Anyone else miss the days where inactive sweeps were the norm?

Yes, but only because this time I wouldn't be at the receiving end.

Nowadays I feel like they'd only be of inactive newspawns, though: those that that leaders didn't know the names of. People in the days of having to engage personally to know someone's name are less likely to kill someone they have a name for other than "thief" or "idiot" or "doomed".

Inactive sweeps were fun. Tiredness killed them.

It's not poor roleplay to want to get rid of a useless segment of your population. Indeed, many governments have tried to do exactly that.

yeh, well bad rp is still rp. its amazing when a theif your chasing actually responds, even if they really suck at rp, its makes it a little more interesting. *sighs* but the gov'ts aren't really trying that hard, th only real oppresive place I've been in is Seatown forest.

Like mayor Giuliani secretly having all of the homeless killed?

HOW IS IT BAD RP?
Just because it pisses people off, doesn't make it a bad role play. Maybe a bad role, but the bad role can still be played well.

edit: I hate how sometimes these days a 'good rper' is just a character who uses emotes a lot and is friendly

Well, killing all inactives can be a good roleplay, but the killers should not call them inactive. Calling them lazy bums or saying that the sleeping illness is a sign from a higher being that the patient should be killed or claiming that the sleeping illness can only be stopped by killing every patient of the sleeping illness.....

I believe the common excuse was that even though most of the inactives were just that... inactives, some of them were likely spies.

If Giuliani secretly killed all the homeless, how come you heard about it, and how come there's still homeless people all over the place in NYC?

...is he the Rick who massacred part of Krif, or the one that strutted into Drojf acting like he owned the place and sabring unarmed newspawns? I get a little fuzzy.

My memory has it that this is the Rick that massacred part of Krif and was later executed by Maynard because if he did not, it'd look poorly on Maynard's behalf.

Yeah, very badly indeed. After all, Maynard had just arrived back from Drojf and the meeting with Maily, Vender, and others (sorry, it's been awhile) on about 560 to find 3/4 of the town dead.

Ah, that was about a half-a-year before my character spawned, and about a year and a half before he arrived in Krif. There was also, a few years later, a Richard who massacred the town with Valentine Wiggins and Matthew Hardy...killed nearly all of the town that time, too, and got my char down to about 12%

Oh, yeah...I forgot about that "Richard", or Maynard never discovered his name before he was killed. If I remember correctly Hardy and Richard were the ones that tried to escape toward Drojf while Maynard chased Valentine into the hills.
