Sci-Fi to air Firefly July 22nd
Sci-Fi has bought the rights to Firefly's 14 episodes from FOX today. They will begin airing Friday, July 22nd at 6:00 and 7:00 PM EST right before Stargate. This is really big news and the first time that Firefly has been aired on US television since it was cancelled in 2002. To those who want to know what Firefly is all about and don't want to take the chance to buy the DVD then watch it on Sci-Fi on July 22nd and every Friday thereafter.

Shouldn't a Star Wars fanatic know there are six movies, an animated series, and a Christmas special introducing the character of Boba Fett?
*vader breathing sounds* I am my father!
... And that Vader never said "Luke, I am your father"

Firefly is a total of 15 hours, 13 episodes equaling one hour each and the pilot episode equaling 2 hours (it'll probably be broken into two different parts when aired on Sci-Fi).
Serenity will probably be 2 hours give or take so that makes it....
Between 17 to 18 hours of Firefly/Serenity and if Serenity does well then there will be sequels and possibily more episodes.

It was originally 9. But the only thing that Lucas has said is that "he" won't do anymore Star Wars movies. You have to remember, 20th Century FOX owns the movie rights to Star Wars. The only thing that Lucas owns is the marketing rights. Steven Spielberg and Kevin Smith have shown interest in continuing Star Wars. Kevin Smith (Dogma and Clerks fame) is rumored to already have signed onto to direct and write a television series based in the Star Wars universe. Plus, do you think that FOX will just let the money cow of Star Wars slip away because Lucas doesn't want to be involved anymore? Trust me when I say there is more Star Wars to come and that includes movies.
Anyways, Episodes 7, 8, and 9 have more to do with Leia becoming the most powerful Jedi, Luke turning to the dark side but not quite, and the rebuilding of the Republic after the defeat of the Galactic Empire.
