It's on! 5:45 PM!

Postby Schme » Thu May 19, 2005 9:43 pm

At five forty five, there's going to be the start of the big showdown in parliment.

Will they throw out those corrupt elitists? Or will the Liberals put those power hungry idiots in there place? It's all down to two crazy guys! Who knows what's gonna happen?!

And at five fourty five, it begins!

In the immortal words of that guy who hit me in the knees with that bycicle chain, "It's on, motherfucker!" (Rought translation)

Watch it!

So, what is he talking about, Nick? Is this some sort of Canadian conspiracy to take over the US? Are you guys sending each other messages?

Well, time to disappear into the hills for a while....

Truthfully, I'm not sure. I watch American news. Breaking news on a broken water plant just isn't news to me.

But I'm guessing it's because we currently have a minority government, and they're going to pass a bill or something that's going to get NOT passed, which can lead to an election.

*waits for Schme to correct him*

It may be 5 oclock somewhere for Jimmy Buffet, but last I'd seen Canada follows the rule of a little theory I like to call "time zones". Now in these "time zones", people have different times around different aread of the globe, based on longitudal location. :D

maybe it's just the newspapers/tv that I watch in the UK...
Maybe it's because the UK is part of the EU, so EU news is important, and maybe the UK is so small that there's not enough news in it... But UK news usually has a lot to say about international news...

EDIT: I'm not being critical, but when huge numbers of Americans no diddly squat about other countries, and the news happening there, I'm not surprised, they have so much happening in their own land. *shrugs* Just the media bending to the realities of the country their in...

Christ, I would have thought someone would understand.

The Parliment is was voting on the budget today. If the goverment in power didn't get the budget, we would have had to have an election.

The goverment squeked by by one seat (In parliment) from an independent (Guy with not party)

I could explain what lead up to it, the current political situation, the British parlimentry system, but that would take forever.

Never mind,then.

And who watches American news? That seems sort of pointless to me. I can understand watching Indian or Pakistany or Portuguese or Korean or Chinese news, but American news?

That's worse than the Egyptian news.
