The Digging machine

Postby Surly » Wed May 18, 2005 1:23 pm

Simple question. What does it dig? The Digging machine (clay) obviously digs clay... what about the other one? Is it more general, digging everything that is dug?

And don't anyone dare tell me to find out in character. I am not using that much steel and iron, to discover it doesn't dig anything in the area...

I am not sure, but I think I recall seeing them in Deserts and beaches...but I dont know what they do for sure... I'd wait for someone else who knows.

No, I do know it is not stone, there was an old post asking for one because stone is so essential to large buildings and halls.

That might well give the the answer...

There really should be something to speed stone digging. A drill or something... considering how much stone is used.

Well -there you go - I thought stone would be the most obvious thing to need to dig - and the most obvious thing to implement?

Do they dig this one resource? If so, could the name be changed to Digging Machine (resource)? Or is that a suggestion?

I thought you could only actually build resource machines on locations that have the correct resource?

No, you can build resource machines anywhere, but if the resource isn't there the machine will ofcourse be useless.

In this instance you are right. Never knew that...

But can it be changed to Digging Machine (sand) anyway?

Really? That's a bug, then, because machines are specifically coded to only be able to be built if the resource is there.

Ie: You can't build a potatoe harvester if there are no potatoes at the location.

If this is true, I'd report it to flyspray. But I personally don't have the proof. Not yet.

If you read the posts after that, Anthony, you'd know he was proved wrong.
