Jur says this isn't a bug. Repairing works again. Some of the rates have been adjusted a bit so it shouldn't be so long to repair items. Trying to repair an item while traveling will result in the item being lost. So don't do it. Ending an repair project before it is done will result in the item being repaired lost. Don't do this either.
Other than that repairing should work just fine.

In consideration of these issues and people who don't know, I think Staff should give a general PM to all the players.

Personally, I'd classify it as a bug. Losing the item, and not being warned of such, that's not exactly FAIR on any level.
Not only that, but the item shouldn't be repairable on the road, unless you could pass objects on the road, and work on other projects on the road...
Lastly, please DO NOT create anymore Flyspray reports. Make a comment on report #110 (Should be the bright red urgent one at the very top of the first page...)

I've always been able to work on projects on the road. At least when in a vehicle.
Aside from that, the only character I have repairing a weapon IS on the road, as I started that before reading the forums...
I'm not cancelling the project, but I'm not working on it. So how do i get my bow back?

Reality was never my strong point.

presumably, when you complete it the item returns. Jur said it hadn't tested people cancelling the project (a slight error on his part - he didn't expect people to cancel projects when they could specify the exact length of the project. Moral, expect the unexpected
) However, I would think he checked that finishing the porject worked fine before releasing it.

Quit complaining. Seriously. The Sociologist wrote:Now what's this about repairs not requiring resources? Do they not?
I thought the whole point was that repairs were to require resources but not take up much time. Surely, the idea was that bows would need new bowstrings, etc, etc.
We should all be happy that the programmer's realize the valuable resource of time itself.
So no, I don't believe they require resources but time.

So losing your items isn't a bug, it's a feature?
People are going to see the active button and want to try it out, and even for those of us who know better, with it right there in your inventory, accidents happen.
Even if a player figures it won't work on the road or whatever, they probably expect an error message, not an item disappearing into thin air.
I agree with Anthony that it doesn't seem very fair, especially for people who don't read the forums. (My travelling char sees thirteen people repairing things on the road, and there's no telling how many others have cancelled the projects while experimenting...)
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad steps are being taken to implement repairs, even if it's obviously going to need a lot of tweaking still...but that test server sounds like a good idea. And if something needs to be tested, I bet most of us would be thrilled to volunteer.

I am not lying i had a steel sabre
I don't say I have lost a sabre to get a new one,, I have one and while I was travelling I tried to repair it, and I know there is some things I can't do while I am travelling, so as the program didn't give me any error message, I thought it will be possible repair the item during the trip, and now I don't have neither the sabre nor I can see the project

But as apparently so many have lost their item, they might not have time to look at the turn reports... maybe.
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.
