Mercury, Magnesium? What's the difference - both elements, both metals, both start with an M - stop spliting hairs...

One is much heavier, nastily toxic, and liquid at room temperature...the other is highly reactive, light, and an essential trace nutrient, I believe.

I don't think magnesium would drive you mad at any plausible level.

If you want to use it in a weapon...I'd say flash-bang grenades or as a starter in thermite would be the top picks. I don't know of any metallurgical ust that would make it suitable for a cantr-world weapon.

It does have a use in cantr. You could find it if you poked around the menues a bit.

It's on a third-world island, made partially of chromium! C'mon programmers, it would be just like japan! Small island... feudal systems... technology not as advanced as rest of the world... it fits perfectly!

Stay on topic please! :D This is only a suggestion thread not a discuss thread. If you want to discuss any of these things here then start a new thread. This is so that I can read through suggestions much easier without having to read two pages of what a katana should be made of.

Thanks, guys.

What about a combat knife? Curved in the middle,I love it
And I begged her give me horses
To trample down my enemy
So eager was my passion
To devour this waste of life
But she would not think of battle that
Reduces men to animals
So easy to begin
And yet impossible to end

Steel Shield!

300g Steel
100g Leather

Katana would be sweet... but there are loads of blades already...

Instead of the combat knife you could implement a Tanto

And a Naginata would be ace!

Ref: Naginata

The Naginata is a bladed staff, featuring a short, single-edged, lightly curved blade. A highly regarded weapon, it was often crafted with exceeding quality, and was the weapon taught to many female nobles to use in defense of their homes. In many cases, a skilled practitioner of Naginatajutsu was said to be more than a match for many samurai.

More than likley because they were 8 to 10 feet longer than a tachi (katana to you uninitiated).

If we are going all oreintal, what about all the weapons I suggested when this thread started. Also a new suggestion:

Katar - punching dagger with a perpendicular grip often used by assassins, as they are shorter for their blade legnth than an ordinary knife.

Looks like a pike, but smaller
And I begged her give me horses

To trample down my enemy

So eager was my passion

To devour this waste of life

Reduces men to animals

So easy to begin

And yet impossible to end

8-10 feet longer? Is that an exaggeration? I had thought that the tachi was the longest of the swords used by the samurai? Or am I thinking of the No-Daichi?

Anyways, instead of yet another knife, make a wakizashi, the smaller counterpart to the katana.

Your thinking No-Dachi or Nagamaki, both over 3ft6 blades. The Naganata was a 2ft blade on a 8 to 10 foot staff, like a bardiche. Tachi's are the longsword, commonly mistaken for the katana used in warfare, a Tachi is slightly longer than a katana, with the kodachi(wakizashi) been about the same amount shorter again.

Could the tool for an iron shod billy club be changed from 'peen hammer' to just hammer? Otherwise the tool takes more to make than the weapon!

Done. This won't change already started projects so you will have to contact the ProgD Department to get this change or just use a peen hammer.
