Repairing bug

Postby mortaine » Thu May 12, 2005 5:41 pm

You can click to repair an item while travelling.

This removes the item from your inventory.

My character "Aran" travelling on the Vrallynuets Road towards Vrall. Hills lost 2 items this way.

Also, cancelling your repair project results in the object disappearing. This seems to be because the object disappears when you start the repair project.

My character Bruno Gorgenson in Blojt just lost his composite recurve bow this way.

This is bad. I thought this would be like any other project...the 'tool' (in this case the object being repaired) remained in your inventory, and only improved while you were working on it.

Also, do 'hours' mean cantr hours (aka turns), or man-hours? because most of these projects seem to take a long time, cantr-wise.

I assume it's Cantr man-hours. Basically, it seems that to repair a new slingshot it takes as long as it takes to manufacture a brand new one.... yeah, a little off-balance.

Now it seems as if the repair-button is removed again..... a second ago, I lost my longbow due to removing the project.... I thought removing would bring the thing back into my inventory...... thank god it was just a longbow

Now, none of my chars can repair anything.....

Maybe better so

Let's hope for this beeing fixed soon..... and a TEST-SERVER really is a nice idea  Not to let all the players beta-test new functions.....

greez,
Chris

//EDIT: just read it in General Discussion...... it has been removed for now.....

I saw that repairing a NEW bone spear takes 55 hours !!
I'm not so sure that my character will be stupid enough to spend that much time on repairing it.

One of my characters lost a crossbow. I'm glad she stole a lot of other weapons as well, but the crossbow was her little jewel.

I like the idea of the test server, a lot.

How many people are likely to claim they had a sabre just to gain one, however?

Not accusing anyone of doing so, but if the staff just start giving sabres back at every request I am CERTAIN several people would claim to have lost one when they never did.

Depends what the PrD can do.

For the record, I'm on a repairing longbow project, just in case it fails

My advice would be to:

A: NOT cancel any repairing projects

B: Stop working on repairing projects.

The project will stay, the item is still unavailable, but it won't dissapear. This will keep things from going totally down the drain untill they can get it fixed.
Reality was never my strong point.
