Trouble loading main page

Yeasterday morning, everything was fine. Yesterday afternoon, I couldn't load the main page, so I couldn't get to the log in. I figured it was maybe a glitch somewhere that would get sorted, and last night it worked fine from a different computer. However, back at the first computer today, and I can't load the main page. The title bar changes to say "Cantr II" but that's as far as it gets. It keeps trying to load, but not getting anywhere.

I'm using Firefox on WinXP, and it doesn't work. Firefox on Linux worked fine last night. Tried it in IE, and it doesn't work. The forums and other web sites are fine. Any suggestions, anyone?

mid afternoon GMT is when the server performs its backups. Perhaps you caught that and now the page is loading from the cache?

Try clearing your cache and see if it helps.

(Using Firefox on XP works fine here)

Clearing the cache hasn't worked. I'll see if I can clear anything else and maybe do a reboot over lunch time.

Ah, got it now. Not sure why, but clearing the cookies and then re-clearing the cache seems to have worked.

Correction, I had it for a few seconds, but when I clicked the log in link, it did the same thing. I've tried clearing the cache, reloading the page, closing and reopening the browser, rebooting the machine, and several combinations of them. I still can't get Cantr to load.

That's extremely perculiar, and I'm unsure what else you could do. If it only happens with a particular computer it could be something on that, although I'm not sure what

I have get the same error during a few minutes, but suddenly it works fine.
I get the same error yesterday but not at the same hour

Well, I have no idea what it was, but it seems to be fine now....how very peculiar...

I don't know when backs ups are scheduled, whether they move around day by day or not. So it's possible that you keep catching the back up in action, that happened to me the other day. None of the content appears, just the standard green/black background

I've got the same problem, rigt now...I think. It's not like the pain page is trying to load. It sems to load up alright, but seems drastically truncated. No link to the log-in page...nor to this forum come to that (had to go via Hotmail) Is it just me? Or is it everybody?

It works fine for me, in the time between my and your posts I logged in twice and noticed no errors at all.

Edit: I've noticed that there is a link to the Top RPG Banners Exchange that doesn't appear when I use my bookmark to the Cantr main page, but does appear if I refresh the page

I wasn't even getting as far as the background earlier, just blank nothingness, and the browser giving the impression that it;s still trying to load.

perhaps some kind of server error?

If you get a blank screen and the browser is still hunting for it that says to me there is some kind of trouble with the browser and server communicating

I've been silly. What I had up was the page before what I think of as the main page; the one on which you choose your language. It's so long since I've launched Cabntr from there, I just dis=dn't recognise it. All I had to do was click on "English " to get to more familiar territory.
