For once I don't really mind one way or the other, but clearly some people had problems reading orange, eg on laptops, or else their eyes are sensitive to that contrast. So how about green and yellow? Make it a pale creamy yellow, in effect "green and gold".
(but for the record I'll vote "don't care")

If this is a temporary issue til the other suggestion is implemented, then I see no reason bothering with bi-colouring. You'll be able to have that with the alternative suggestion...
Isn't bicoloring an idea to a permanent fix? Because it is one.

I can roll with the punches of each change and adapt, but the bold white just doesn't have the same feel. People are orange. I don't like roads to towns or buildings being orange, PEOPLE are orange!
Ummm, were people always orange? even before names were editable?
As for the bug of sensing death by having people's names turn un-orange, I liked it, it was only good for seeing if a thief was dead on a path. I always thought that you should be able to see down the path and see if the thief was laying there. Or if the person was in a house, you could smell the rotting corpse. There was a person that was close in proximity to you and now is dead, and it was just obvious. No big deal.
Back to the poll... keep it bold, but lets change the background color from green to pink... oh yeah, and the t-shirts need to be re-designed.

I like the idea of having only people in orange. I like the dynamic naming of buildings/places, etc., but they should NOT be orange.
People = orange
Buildings/places, etc. = bold white
Cantr without orange people doesn't have the same attitude of Cantr only green and white. I know the mouse-over is orange, but that's not the same. It is also more difficult to keep up with what's going on on the events screen, especially in more populated areas.

Was it for this my life I sought?
Maybe so, maybe not.

i need people to be orange, because it stands out and allows for skimming. i don't really have a strong opinion on building, vehicle and location link color. white doesn't stand out enough, but it would be nice being able to easily distinguish people names from building/vehicle/location names. perhaps a 3rd color? yellow maybe?
in fact, in that vein, it would be nice if buildings, vehicles and locations also had different colors from each other.
people: orange
buildings: pink?
locations: yellow?
vehicles: pale blue?
basically i'm all for laziness. any system that allows me to figure out what's been going on in the least amount of time/effort if i so choose is a good thing. the white links make it harder.

argh??
Why does everyone instantly moan for the OLD way? Why does no one moan for a new and better way (Excepting people who are)
Ok, I personally find bold white easier to use, BUT
I think a mutli coloured system will ultimately be the best. Either a selection of similar colours so there's no eye strain but you can still skim each category of links, or underlining in different colours.
So, as there isn't an option for that I will vote "Don't Care" to indicate that I believe both options are as bad as each other.

Read that again, people. Whatever the result of this poll, it will be TEMPORARY, and almost-instant. Bi- or multi- coloring is not an instant option. And will be possible with the FUTURE to-be-implemented idea. Discuss that in the other topic, and keep this for the poll.

so, tiredness, deterioration, everything else ever changed stays unchanged with a majority of around 450 players vs 25?

What I mean is, I don't see many trying to suggest something better. I hate the "if it aint broke don't fix it" attitude. My attitude is "if it aint broke, great - now lets make it even better!"
