I'm against the idea at this point in the game. You are giving an incredible advantage to yourself, by implementing something that benefits you as a player who checks everyday.
However, as suggested before, I think we should use *a dual function to* the 'eat' button of healing foods to be able to choose what we eat as a daily food.

I'll say again. If you don't check Cantr everyday, you're going to have more problems than eating.

Like what? When I first started playing, I'd regularly not check for a few days, my charries were always fine. Even now, I often go away at the weekend and don't get to check them - no probs...Nick wrote:I'll say again. If you don't check Cantr everyday, you're going to have more problems than eating.
Cantr is great for those who can only play intermitently

I kind of disagree with that sentiment a little bit Nick. I am having an increasing appreciation for the more inactive areas. If I have to check on my character everyday just to keep him surviving, that's a big problem in my book. I enjoy the laid back life, where I can log in, have a few regular conversations, but the world doesn't necessarily go to hell because I didn't log in over lunch break.
That is all code for, I am exhausted by Lake Village and wish everyplace could be more like Kiii.

Easy Sparky. We already understand it takes a while to starve. But also realize that for every day you don't eat it will take several days of eating to get the energy back. Didn't I post that already? It's daft to run the game on a hunger deficit and frankly I've got better shit to do than babysit my characters 24/7. The ONLY disadvantage to inactivity is that it is hard to fight the oppression of the hyperactives.
The main reason to select which foods in your inventory get eaten on which order is to aid in resource management. I hate it when a character scarfs down all the travelling food in town, leaving me with nothing but potatoes when I am on a long trip. That level of control would be great. The complete abolishment of automatic eating will just add an unecessary headache to the game. Sorry, it's just daft.

So it would be worse to have to eat seven days worth of food at once because you didn't log in for a week. Eating that much food should kill a person. It's unrealistic. That is why I hate the healing food system. If I was on death's door, I wish I could eat a 10 lbs bag of onions and be miraculously healed. Honestly I think it would kill you - it would definitely kill your social life for a while.
This is not the idea we need to improve the game's diet issues. We need some more physical benefits tied to food types, like eating meat required to maintain strength, lack of fruits gives you scurvy, eating bread required for efficient digestion (fiber). Prepared (multi component) meals should be more nutritious than just munching raw potatoes for a day.
I don't think that the automatic part of eating has anything to do with making food better. I think it will only kill off characters faster.

Well I also find it unrealistic that someone who almost starved to death and was given food, eats the same ammount as someone who has been eating every day of his life.
Okay, maybe healing 97% hunger with one gigantic meal would be unrealistic.
But perhaps there could be some sort of way to limit this, so it's more realistic?

I've always thought it was pretty stupid that if you were starving, and someone gave you food, you'd still just sit there and not eat it until the next day. And then you'd only eat a few grams, and still be starving for several days to come. So yes, I'd like the ability to control how much and how often your character eats.
Though maybe a compromise would work; you automatically eat once a day, but you can manually eat more than that if you'd like. (Maybe one day leading to a bunch of chubby city dwellers, though that'll probably happen pretty far in the future, if ever...)
