Actually, according to Anthony this was changed some time ago.

And according to Thomas, I was incorrect.

Yikes, that sounds like an even worse bug than the one the topic is about. :( I know passing objects on roads has got to be a tough thing to program or it probably wouldn't have been left this long, but it seems like the current system allows for some pretty glaring abuses...

And hence if anyone abuses it they are breaking the rules and exploiting bugs. So DO NOT do so, obviously.

I have used this before, but how in the heck am I supposed to know what's a bug and what's intended? This is ludicrous! So does that mean if I see any of your characters starving on the road, then I should just watch them die?

Edit: Took out the mean, unnecessary, part.

Er... common sense? If people walking cannot pass items on the road, didn't it strike you as odd that people in vehicles can?

I'm slightly concerned that nobody at all seems to have thought of this as a bug... I never knew myself, but evidently plenty of people do.

Or was it reported? I'm too laxy to check.

I do believe it's been discussed a fair amount here on the forums, at various times.

There's a natural but evidently often wrong assumption that if a game behaviour has been around for a long time, has been known to you and mentioned on the forum for a long time, it can't be a bug because it would have been noticed by now.

I always thought it was silly...I just assumed it was deliberately ignored and treated it as a fact of life. I never thought of abusing walking speed with it, though...

It wasn't common sense to me. I find many things odd that seem like bugs to me, but some I suppose are intentional.
