Building Projects

Postby swymir » Sun May 01, 2005 5:31 am

What is the rule on starting building projects as signs with no intention on finishing them? I say this just because of two building projects in Lad. "The Emperors Private Strip Club" and "The Emperor of Lad is Giving me a BJ".

Ah, see now this is when it crosses the line into vulgar. As of now I dont think there is an official stance on it, but this type of building message is very unacceptable.

When it is something like this:

Building -Queen Purple Tortoise Will Never Leave Her Land and Peoples- (cottage)

Then that is acceptable in my opinion, especially since that one was created by one of the top staff members of the game when he played.

For me that is a rule breach. Any building project that is intended to give a message rather than actually be a legitimate building project... I feel that is exploiting certain game conditions, and should not be allowed.

Regardless of which player started said project.

Hopefully signs (or memorials) will cut down on this kind of thing.

I could have sworn I posted something similar to that earlier today.

Just to say, I agree, and am slightly confused as to what happened to my other post

Such projects are to be removed. Well, not the one Brandon brought up, but the first two. Mainly for the fact that they're surely not reasonable, or appropriate.

I would reccommend Flyspraying it.

The fact that buildings can be named whatever you want to me means that characters are not out of bounds in exploiting that fact. Now, I agree that vulgarity doesn't have a place, but other than that I think it's fine. Anyway, dynamic naming will render that irrelevent, mostly.

The problem is using unfinished building projects that will not be finished as signs.

I'm not looking forward to the day when towns are full of immovable, long-lived billboards. Notes scattered all over the ground are bad enough but at least they can be cleared away occasionally.

Notes cost nothing.

Signs don't cost much either.... What is it, a few days worth of stone and a trowel?

Reengraving projects and possibly demolition projects with a sledgehammer and/or a crowbar maybe?

In the Kwor Catherdral, West Tower.

Stone extension -bvnvnvb-

Stone wasting project by a thief. Any chance of cancelling the project and returning the stone?

That sounds like a good one, pity about the difficulty in implementing it.
