They do definatly have US government funding, paid by US tax payer money, on top of private donations...

They get 'Military Aid' from the US government to deal with Palestinian 'terrorists'... They get around $2 billion in grants and loans each year, and have got as much as $5.5 billion in grants in 1997...

Richard H. Curtiss - Executive Editor of the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs.
Both houses of Congress have voted to reduce U.S. economic aid to Israel in FY 2000 by $120 million but to increase U.S. military aid to Israel by $60 million. This will bring U.S. foreign aid to Israel for the coming fiscal year to $960 million in economic aid, $1.92 million in military aid, and $60 million for “refugee resettlement,” for a total of $2.94 billion. Congress plans to continue this formula for an annual $60 million reduction in total foreign aid to Israel for a span of ten years, reducing the eventual total of bilateral U.S. foreign aid to Israel to $2.4 billion.

We paid them to root out terrorists, not to fund them destroying random cities. And as far as i'm concerned, they've done thier jobs. We haven't had another terrorist attack yet.

We had nothing but good intentions for them. Its not our fault if they did something else.

The US were paying them long before 'terrorism' was the buzz-word of the day

She is right....we train and fund them. But on the flip side, a school bus of Israelis being their target seems even worse to me. I don't know, bad news all around. I guess I'll make them waffles too. Nick has the syrup.

If you're gonna blame us for all the times we lent someone money, then I guess you're going to be blaming us for alot of things.

What can I say, we're generous. We have profited alot. We want to share the wealth.

Like I said - they're both pretty awful in their tactics - I'm just annoyed by the weight Israel are allowed to bring to the situation, and what they get away with that isn't publiscised, whereas most Palestinian attacks are heavily publiscised...

But, yes, waffles and syrup - all round thankyou

That seems to be one of the things furthest form the plans of the US governments and US multinational corporations...

We are spread so thin as it is, we just don't have the manpower to deal with israel as well. We are dabbling everywhere.

And if you want to do something productive, pick up a gun and take it to the israelies. I'm sure your pal buddies will welcome you. Talking about a problem never gets it solved.

what? and get shot and waste my life? I'd be no better than the people I'm complaining about - talking, spreading knowledge, making others realise what is actually happening, what thier governments do, what others do, and the small ways they can do things in their daily lives to change things - I see that as helping...

Uncalled for YoYo, try to keep this clean. HF wanted an intelligent conversation, no need to let it get locked.

How was that uncalled for? All i'm saying is they could probably use that more then someone speaking out against whats going on.

And as for the getting shot part, it could happen. Then again, you could live through the ordeal. Lifes full of possibilities. Take a risk.

You really have to stop trying to stop bycotts.

First you tell me that Coke is made with Indian ground water. As sad as it is, now it feels as though it's more exotic, and better.

Now you tell me not to buy construction equipement. Well, I'm no major purchaser of construction equipement, but I think "Cat, the bulldozers used to crush shantytowns worldwide" or "Cat is the only equipement used by the Isareali army to drive Palestinians from there homes" makes me wish I had a Cat bulldozer.

Cut it out. Your leaving a path of destruction as you go with your supposedly moral causes.

In fact, I am beginning to feel you are in on some sort of anti-humanitarian conspiracy, preaching morality so that people will be contrary. Your with some sort of death cult.

Or perhaps it's just me.

Anyhow.

Wait... so you're saying that when HF says not to buy something, that everyone else is then motivated to do the opposite of what he said?
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.
