I say NO TO GUNS...
(In game that is)..I don't see the point, there are enough weapons and there are other things I would put much higher on the priority list than adding guns. I would much rather see some natural healing return, than another way to impliment injury.

If guns are implemented and become commonplace, I will probably leave the game. Sorry, but I have had enough of guns in my lifetime, and I find them triggering for my PTSD.

How would that be true. I can stab someone in the back with a knife and I only need to do it once. So why don't knives have one hit kills?

...I could also kill someone with a stick in there sleep.

I have a similar opinion, refer to my post.

i too see no reason why guns would have to be anymore one-hit-kill-capable than any other of the more powereful weapons, which are not very on-hit-kill-capable at all.

We're all on the same page here... because I know I could get killed once with a sword, regardless if it's long, short, iron, steel, bronze... I think more factors should be added to the violence system.

Well, it's going to be the most powerful weapon there is if it's implemented, and as crossbows are very powerful already, a person who is good at weapons will be able to get pretty darn close to killing someone if not altogether.

You guys are all crazy. Getting sliced by a sabre or gutted by a crossbow would be MUCH more deadly than getting shot by a gun.

If having a gun would have an advantage, I'd say it would be that it shouldn't tire you out.

the RL advantage of guns were that they didn't take a lifetime of practise to master, were quick and easy to use.

I'd like an overhaul of combat before guns were added (if at all)

I don't think it's wise to add more missle weapons before ammunition is introduced and working.

Correction... the early gunpowder weapons were most definitely NOT quick to fire! Nor that easy to use, I think - crossbows are exceptionally simple. Guns do, however, have the advantage of being more scary. And they did improve.

They were easier to learn to use, I believe. Partially because of the way they were employed, I suspect...but they're certainly simpler than archery however you use them.

I think all the people saying that guns would be devastating are assuming (as I was) that if they were introduced into the cantr combat system, they would necessarily be immensely powerful to compensate for (presumably) costing more than crossbows. I know that was my reasoning.

I can insure you all that guns are not going to added anytime soon. Not until a major overhaul of the combat system and the way objects work (ie. ammunition being used) is done which is not even on the programming list of things to do right now.

This is correct, entirely. Guns will NOT be implemented anytime soon.

However, I must point out, that sooner or later, chances are, they WILL be implemented. Cantr isn't sitting still, it's evolving, and as such, we need to simulate that with new technologies into the game. Guns will be one of those technologies.

With the current combat system, Guns would be murderous to implement. Really. All suggestions stated so far would very much be required:

- Ammunition.
- A change to the way damage is inflicted and absorbed.
- Armour of sorts.
- Many tools and resources to create a gun
- Existing weapons to decrease in damage, to not make guns one-hit-wonders
- Yadda yadda

They will not appear soon. By the time they do appear, chances are, many chracters will have died by old age. Seriously. That's my prediction. But, it'll still happen, sooner or later.

Read up slightly? Ammunition has not been implemented yet. So bows and crossbows and any other current weapon cannot use it. For bows it's not so much of a big deal...
