I would imagine it was to be fair to our charries, since the ability to repair them has not yet been made available (as many were complaining about, and in my opinion, rightfully so), Many would have lost their only weapon. Especially those poor souls who live in areas with very aggressive animals, who need their bows to survive.

The fact that weapons were sold for less due to deterioration has created a far lesser impact than if they had all been let crumble into oblivion.

i don't think the point of introducing decay was to minimize impact. quite the contrary actually.

also, to be fair would be to not reset decay reletively long after it was implemented, after some items had already been destroyed by it. decay itself, with or without repair, is in fact "fair" since it makes things harder for all characters. whether it's good is a seperate argument.

if programming feels that decay rates aren't acceptable as they stand, then decay should be suspended until things can be adjusted. surprise decay resets are just a silly, round-about way of dealing with things.

It's getting a bit crumbly... but I assume we all know that.
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.

Your point becomes less relevant when you post months after the last post...

*nods* I assume it'll be at least one more reset before we actually need to start fixin stuff...machines and whatnot will be tougher to maintain I think, could kill low populated towns.

No, the forumer approach is to complain until it's fixed. :D

Dynamic naming is nice but the Decay reset that just happened is better

Jos seems to be having a very useful, successful, productive day as far as Cnatr is concerned!

Well done to Jos and the other Programmers.
