Why should it matter? Maybe some other new land will have the capabilities for ONLY Bronze, while the existing lands can have ONLY Iron and Steel. Maybe we want it that way. MAYBE. You know, for trade and stuff.

With the way spawning works now, nobody will be able to have discovered Bronze until they've used iron and steel to get to that location.

Things change. Spawning may change. *snicker* Plus, who's to say that Bronze will only produce weapons? Maybe it'll produce something useful, that Iron and Steel can't? Like... isn't Bronze more conductive than Iron and Steel? I really don't know, but that's an idea!

Copper's more conductive than bronze, IIRC, and you don't even need to smelt it.

ah, you mean in game. I see, I was talking RL.

hmph, we shouldn't have aluminium bikes because we don't have thousands of volts to refine it...

Indeed, although I can't recall if I finished the whole task off before RL circumstances forced a withdrawal, maybe I didn't polish quite as much as possible

About copper. It can be found in large clumps but most times not bigger then your thumb. so if copper is implemented maybe smelting should still be a factor. And hey egypt has lots of copper so if u implement copper any time soon put it in desert regions. and since i havent looked for copper or anything in game dont complain that it is already there and just ignore me okay.
