Dirt? If you are going for cartographers from the K-island, Dust is your man. All the older characters on that island know who he was...

And I think Armedian Koloff is pretty famous among the other islands. Him, and that infernal "great map" as well...

The dust maps still float around here and there. At first I thought the Dirt map was like a follow up to the dust map. Because of the related names. Then I found out they were two different people.

Anyone else remember this hive-minded gent?

There are people who honor his memory, west, don't worry. ;)

Dust was the man who created a text only map of the K-island. His maps were everywhere...

Then Dirt came along and did a visual map to go with it.

Two different people, two different maps. Dust was back in the 600s, Dirt was in the 900s, I believe.

Dust and Dirt, were both from K-isle?
And both mapmakers?
Whoever created the youngest of the two, is highly unoriginal.

*shrugs* It made me smile to see Agar's wannabe map maker on K-Isle call himself Dirt...

Well, as far as famous mapmakers go, I'd say the map that my characters use the most is the Hobbes, especially the Treefeather/Starseeker parts. Treefeather's map is amazing.

My K-island characters don't use maps at all to travel...they either don't travel much or (since all but one are in their late 40s) already know the island cold.

However, one of them has a private-stock K-island visual map that was made in the late 700s.

Hobbes 'Not his work' Encylopidia.

A compilation of lots of maps and other information, though the most boring bits are Hobbes'. I havn't read it all. Too long. One of my chars pretended to be Hobbes for a while. Amusing.

It's an encyclopedia. He credits all his sources, and compiles them in a handy format. He still put a substantial amount of work into compiling it.

And so what if it is? It's still more useful than any map or compilation I've seen anywhere else in game.

Most of my chars have seen one. Never actually read it, or piked one up. Though one char has one. And she read a bit. Only his 'Diary' bit.
