Sorry, folks, we're going with the votes recorded by the poll, as they are for designs that were submitted before the deadline and are verifiable.

I do have to say that for a marketing department, you're worryingly ignorant of the phrase:

"the customer is always right"

Sorry, you haven't bought anything yet.

Besides, we have to follow certain guidelines or nothing will ever get done. Everyone had an equal chance to submit designs, and an equal chance to vote on the poll.

How would we be able to hold an organised contest, if we allow double votes, and votes on things that aren't even in the contest?

Have you ever worked in Customer Service? You'd know that 90% of the time, this isn't true. :P

Further clarification:

The customer thinks they're always right - and if we want their money, we have to play along...

You're not thinking straight. We cannot logically calculate which design is most preferred if people are voting twice, switching votes, and voting for designs that aren't even on the ballot. There's reasons we made rules, and I didn't think when creating them, that they were so difficult to follow.

I know what you're saying Nick... and, grudgingly, I think you're right...

But don't let that get to your head... It's only gonna be this once mind you...

Here's food for thought: Take away this poll, pick the design that's very simplistic. And don't talk about t-shirts for another six months. If you hadn't asked which one we the people prefer, people would have bought one no matter what it looked like. Now, people see this topic and the arguments as well as the design they liked not getting picked for use, they're not going to buy one at all perhaps.

I still think you should consider this poll a learning experience, scrap it and start a new one. It's clear that many people didn't quite understand what they were voting for or would have chosen one of the newly proposed designs if given that option. Is it really necessary to stubbornly stick with what you have going now? How about some flexibility so that people actually get what they like?
