I don't like being defamed.

While your stupid comment is completely unfounded, many of your characters have cooperated with each other, so I guess, you shouldn't be pointing fingers, in the first place.

Example please?

Example, why? Isn't it en vogue any more to make unfounded statements? Or do you just not like it when they're directed at you, instead of coming from you?

as an aside, Thomas doesn't mince his words when something is said which may be misread as fact, especially where issues of fairness are concerned, which doesn't help to defuse the tension

Well, I'm rather surprised to hear that statement...though you were begging for some flak.

That was an awesomely stupid thing that you said even if it's true. You don't accuse the PD of corrupt behaviour like that unless you're ready to give your examples and evidence. :x

Not that I'm inclined to believe that such evidence exists...

Not to poke the bear anymore, but even if there wasn't cooperation issues, based on forum posts alone I suspect at least stretching of the CR - if opinions regarding justified character deletion mean anything.

Not meaning to be inflammatory, it just deserves pointing out in the name of general principle.

Consider the following quote:

griogal wrote:In fact, nowadays it is the other way around. Several of towns that are not exactly Mac Gregors' best friends are controlled by one member of staff. Do you hear me whining about it?

Now, consider how often we've been told here on the forum that the game is not about "power-playing". The game is supposed to be all about "roleplay", apparently with especial reference to the blind, deaf, dumb, deranged...people who think they are goats, sheep...and who talk to cotton plants, preach about hell and suchlike.

Anything so long as what you do doesn't impinge on the "powers that be". Consider also that when I found out certain things about the skills system, I was sent messages oozing warm fuzzy stuff about "roleplay" and being a good boy, but thereafter sent what seemed to amount to a veiled threat of removal from the game. EDIT: I was told that I "already know too much" but then of course such things are known to members of staff anyway.

You see, the whole point is that I, as The Sociologist, am interested in whether social order in this game really has been established by the players themselves, or whether it is being manipulated. And this is one of the areas of interest that I've been studying since I joined. If it is being manipulated, then there's little point in the exercise I'm currently engaged in.

Now, oddly enough, I don't mind the situation that much--but what I do mind is being sent messages or posts which patronize me. Well, I believe I have now substantiated sufficiently what I posted. Namely that I get sent messages warning me about certain styles of "power-play" when any number of towns in the critical KDF region are controlled by just one member of staff!

So, could you kindly reciprocate by posting an example of any of my characters assisting another, please, or else apologize for defaming me. You are authorized to reveal any of my character names and to post any logs for that purpose.

None of what you posted there is even remotely related to your insinuating of most PD members being 'power players'...

Quoting another player, who's also making false implications isn't very smart either.

And it's great that you're The Sociologist, really, but that's not as impressive as you may think. Right now, you're just someone ranting, trying to knock people who devote their spare time on a game to provide some fun to others. If you like that, fine, do that. But do it somewhere else, not in Cantr.

My statement was, as I stated already, unlike yourself, completely unfounded. It was meant to give you a spoonful of your own medicine.

An apology? For your own behavior? There is a whole range of reactions to that in my repertoire, but apologizing is definitely not one of them.

You "don't like being defamed". Think about it. Just a second. How does that feel? And you're not even doing anything constructive.

I said "many", but will agree to change it to "some" or even "a few", maybe. :)

Not knocking people, but sounding a warning about a certain "philosophy" that runs a risk of getting out of hand. It was not I who said the game is less fun than it used to be.

Thank you. :D

There's no call to thank me, really. Your statement is still utterly stupid, and blatantly made up.

I think both of you have been playing long enough to know this isn't proper forum talk.
This is pretty clearly a two-man argument. Use PMs.
