Political boundaries and territories, the majority of which were constructed in the first three quarters of the last century, make that not the case... Unfortunatly, these boundaries were construed when it was believed that the best basis for a political territory was a national identity... something which has been contentious, and often dangerous, and which we are still paying the costs for in places...

I have a solution! How about every country in the world merge into a big, garguantuan worldwide empire, headed by me! Then nationalism wouldn't hurt anyone (with the exeception of those who opposed my absolute power...........)

better a canadian than an american. at least they acknowledge their roots (Canada still has the Queen as head of state, right?)

americans haven't forgotten their roots - they came from a bunch of raving religious nutters, bent on spreading their conservative word of the lord around the world...

They very much DO relate to and remember those roots...

(could any replies to this start as a new thread in non-cantr related? I'm too lazy to split it...)

Okay, we are (mostly) all agreed. If you want a character removed, don't starve them in public, don't plead for it, and why? Because you aren't just playing with yourself here, you are playing with other people. Should go in the FAQ.

I don't think I've ever killed a char just to be in *that* area over *this* one. Maybe I've spawned thinking "please not Siom-Quill-Brunoi AGAIN!", but I doubt that counts, and I've still played them.
