The bookseller, often overlooked as she goes about her business in her drab brown surcoat and skirts, her spectacled face nothing much to look at, comes striding up the street, her nose buried in a book.... again (this time it appears to be an older work-- the volume does not have a title printed on it). Intent on the page, she doesn't seem to notice the parade of strumpetry just down the street, nor the congregation of people still clogging the streets, but she does look up when she runs into some kind of impediment, immediately calling "Pardon!" to her unfortunate obstacle.
This, of course, is how she finds herself apologizing to a cast-iron lamp post. She glances around at the crowd, blinking in the waning light.
Truly, I cannot believe that you're all going through with this madness, this charade of lynching. It's barbaric, I tell you! At the very least, call in the watch to haul whomever you suspect into jail, don't.... she shudders lynch him. Even if he escapes, he's unlikely to return, knowing that we know his identity, and if he does, then I'm sure justice can prevail.
That said, I do think you all must not judge Mr. Surly too harshly. I've known him for years; he may be a bit eccentric and perhaps on the... well... prideful side, like many learned men. But I've never known him to be a bad person. Just... eccentric. Besides which, you can easily see that the killer or killers had a certain degree of .... physical strength. She glances apologetically at Mr. Surly. And, well, I think you can all see that our friend the scholar here just doesn't fit the profile.
I must concur with Mr. Alex on one thing, at least. It would be a gross miscarriage of justice to condemn someone at this point. Why, our chances of finding the real killer are tremendously slim, and with barely any evidence, I do believe we are as likely to do the killers' dirty work for them as to successfully find the culprit. Besides which, I know hardly anything about these kinds of things, being only a bookseller and a woman at that. Surely there are greater, more investigatory minds which should prevail. I'm afraid that, in the cause of mob justice, I must abstain.

*She blushes and hurries towards the closest table to get her hands free and move that stupid note in some place more descent. And on the last damn moment she trips on a cobble and drops the whole panoply, most of the tea splashing on the poor Egyptologist who unfortunately happened to be sitting by that specific table.*

turns to speak to Mortaine, when suddenly he is drenched in tea. He howls in pain, then almost immediately his hands go to his journal
Ahh! Watch it girl! That is very hot liquid... and if any of it is on my journal, I will be having harsh words with your master.
Mutters to himself as he stands, dripping tea, and stalks of to his house.

Standing up in shock at what just happened
Seko! Be careful. That "was" worth over a quarter million pounds.
sighs
A hard days work done the drain or in this case street.
watches as the tea runs down the street and into the sewer

Sighs at the site of poor little Seko in her latest predicament. He turns and nods to the bookseller.
A pleasure to see you out Ms. Mortaine, even under such unfortunate circumstances. You speak a lot of sense I hink. I too wish to keep from acting rashly in making a decison. I am afraid that we may not have the luxury of time, though, so I am hesitant to absatin so quickly. It is not even midafternoon yet.
Shakes his head again as he searches the street. Perhaps we should go searching for the sheriff. Has anyone seen him today? And what of the other factory workers? Did they recieve the day off as well as Dee and Mikki? Everyone should be accounted for before we make a decision, I think.

Yes sir so sorry t-t-that won't happen again, I promise... *She knees down on the street, quickly gathering the shards on the tray.* Hey wait, t-this one survived! *she squals optimistically as she picks up a lonely teacup, but the stress of lifting is too much for the delicate item and it shatters, leaving her holding only the handle.* Uh, oh dear... *She grabs the tray and runs off to the manor.*

*he crashes through his door and stumbles out into the street smelling of cheap Gin and unwashed Skin, thick stubble is sprouting from his chin and a fresh bandage covers the stup where his right arm used to be* What the hell is all this shouting? cant you see some people are trying to sleep here? *he smables over to a fence which he leans against holding his aching head in his hand, he looks up and notices the concern on everyones face* what's happend here? it better be good reason to wake me...

Dee finally speaks out after being quite for so long, eyeing what's been happening around her... Not liking a bit of it... Especially the way Sparkle and mikki behave... She is grateful that she is not one of Sparkle's girls, for she would have lost her reputation.
Come on now people, you've obviously forgotten that the one who was supposed to invistigate this murder was Sheriff Spider... But he is not here right now.. And you did not wait for him, you burried the body before Spider shows up... Why? You don't want to get caught? Whoever did that to poor Yo-Yo wanted to hide the evidence so he won't get caught... And we all know who he was, don't we? It's AoM!!! Who else??
She goes over to the Inn after making her point clear, and talks to The Surly Cantrian
Just because I'm poor, doesn't mean I'm ignorant.. And I'm really interested in the work you do... You're an Egyptologist, aren't you? Do you think you can teach me all the great history of the Egyptians?

*raises his eyebrows at Mr. Floyd and shakes his head* Yes, a murder. Yo Yo is dead.
*turns to face the town* Now, the fact remains. Whether or not the sherriff is the killer or not, he still fails to do his job and should be sent to jail regardless. We should not lynch him, but he should not be able to ignore this situation and get away with it.

*he looks distressed* YoYo is dead...*he mumbles something under his breath, the words Gin and Booze being the only recognizable words spoken*
