:D :D :D :D

Happy birthday!!!

:?

Does this mean we all get presents?

Geting back on topic... Is the announcements thread ever coming back then? Or has it been cast into the Abyss?

I think it's replaced by some of the stickies, as Jos said. Any real announcements ought to go out in the player-page messaging system anyway, so non-forumers can see them.

Not that I have anything against seeing it return...just backing up the 'not necessary' position.

It disappeared the same day the cantr forum got hacked and we lost the rest of the forums.

Maybe noone remembered to re-add it?

Forum announcements may well go as announcements (which are kinda super-stickies that float on top of the stickies) in the GenD forum.

It'll be lost in a lot of those old stickies. Do those need to stay?

There are 8 stickies already... and they don't seem that important. Maybe if there were less, I'd be more inclined to read them...

Good point :)

Revanael, can the CD take charge of removing sticky status on non-important announcements in any of the public forums?

I noticed that there is a super-sticky Announcement thread at the top of suggestions.

Maybe a similar, locked, thread at the top of General Discussion for big announcements?

That would be pretty similar to the Announcements section...

Of course. S'our job anyway... :D

I was planning on no more than three stickies (probably less, at least most of the time), junking ALL the existing ones, and having one "index"-type sticky linking to all the important threads. I've seen that done elsewhere and it tidied the place up a LOT.

I'll get on it.

And I must get round to a "forum guidelines" type sticky as well...
