Garage?
Simple idea. Big building, inbetween hall and building size, that vehicles can be stored in. Idea for this is that you don't want folks messing with your stuff while you're away or inside, so this is a cozy spot. Also, no one would know what cars are in town unless they entered the garage.

Also, if your down-and-out, you could live in it and plot your revenge!
Yeah, i like it! dooo it! would it come with a built in lock?

Maybe people realised that due to the overly secretive way things are done, then would waste several years of their characters lives (and sevreal months of their own) making something that doesn't do the job it is intended to. Maybe, just maybe, it might be an idea for people to know what they are making in advance? There is no way a character should spend years building a craft he believes will go faster on roads only to discover he has accidently built a boat.
Sometimes so much secrecy is just detrimental to the game.
Oh, and garages would be a good idea in my opinion.

This would be nice, but the programming would have to be altered for this, as currently vehicles function similarly to buildings, exited and moved through "location" and entered through "buildings". A new tag for buildings would have to be added and allow vehicles to see buildings while the driver is inside the vehicle. Same goes for vehicles on other vehicles. Both of which would be nice and add new dimensions to travel. If this ever gets done, maybe we'll see some nice intercontinental warfare with big landing ships bringing in troops on passenger cars to deploy. Too many WW2 first person shooters for me.

That IS what a ferry is made for.
No, no it isn't. All it actually means is that it carries people and/or vehicles on a regular schedule. Or that it would be used to IRL. Ferries do not need to be designed to carry vehicles.
Which isn't to say that it wouldn't be nice if they, and some other large vessels, could.

I agree with Surly. Not EVERYTHING should have to be found out in game. There should be at least some sort of knowledge base that is available out-of-game, or at the VERY least more descriptions on items. How does anyone know how much damage a Flail does than, say, a War Hammer, if they don't even have any clue as to what it is other than the materials involved?
Besides, as has been said before, that puts new players at a terrible disadvantage...an old player with a new character already knows most of what there is to know, whereas a new player is at a tremendous disadvantage. In a game where each char should be played as an individual, giving some of them an inherent advantage solely based on who the player is is ridiculous.
And call me cynical, but I know very few players who intentionally dumb down their characters as far as tools and especially vehicles go...these are individual characters with lives of their own; they can't be expected to spend decades building stuff only to find out they have no use for it, just because we refuse to say anything about it on the forum.
We need a knowledge base. Blah.
