I used to feel this way, but oddly enough my charries have started becoming increasingly impatient with it all of late. Yep, not me but my charries themselves. :P Who cares whether Glen Morangie did or did not walk off with Drojf's iron way way back before they were spawned? Frankly, I'm forced to conclude that my young charries don't actually care.

So, if you play your new characters correctly, what you will find happening is a sort of "generation gap". This is both sociologically interesting and historically correct. Think 1968 and all that. This is why many of the younger towns are more vibrant, experimental and cooperative......the older ones decadent and stagnating.

I've noticed that the forum has become increasingly snippety..it's ridiculous. It reminds me of a cross between Siom, and Quillanoi with all the teenybopper/newspawn drama.

I suppose I've been playing over two years... not sure how long exactly.

Lol! I remember that! Everyone had a huge discussion on the forums about wether we should do what had already happened or if you could do something else. Lol, I remember a few criminals gettin a second chance.

And you know, it's even fairly well justified, as things go. There's a great deal of history that most characters know nothing about, and younger characters don't even know exists. A lot of them are more recent than Gregor Mac Gregor's threat, even...and there's no history for them to read if they wanted to.

Hah, I was away on vacation during the time warp...my chars all made arrangements to be fed, and then when i came back most of the way through the summer it was BEFORE I left. That was bizarre.

Only one of my charries is interested in the history of where she is...She loves where she is and strives to learn all she can...she has even recorded the history that she learns in her diary, so she may one day pass it on if someone wishes to know....The rest couldn't care less, but I was mainly refering to my self....not my charries...in respect to hearing the stories and learning the history of places

You know, this thread is becoming a prime example why I don't feel the need to check the forums anymore:

Every thread on the forum goes off-topic (see the whole rant on history in this thread) and every thread also becomes at least 5 pages long, which becomes a hell to follow if you're not in it from the start.

And frankly, I think the forum is not all that interesting or Cantr-related anymore.
It will be extremely hard to change this, perhaps the best way would be to clean it all out and start over again. Otherwise I think this forum will just bleed to death (I've seen it happen tons of times before)

Don't mock the forum, the forum's just great. Ok sometimes people have their disagreements but that's just life. I don't think there's any blocks trying to make people's life miserable.

i'd say that even though this thread has gone off topic, it's still an interesting discussion. what's bothersome is when a few people go off topic by getting into a private conversation. open discussion is good, even if the subject does slowly drift from the title.

it's hard for me to make any statements about the younger generation since all my characters are now old and decrepit... :(
DOOM!
