The Lighthouse project in Doryiskom
Okay, the lighthouse project in Doryiskom dates back to before 600. And it requires glass. I have 200g of window glass, just as modern lighthouses require. But the window glass won't replace the glass...
Can somebody either:
i)update the project so it requires window glass, or
ii) turn 200g of my window glass into old glass, or
iii) tell me if there is still a way to make normal standard glass as required for the project.
Thanks in advance...

Ah, such a beautiful thing...
You see, I asked about this a while back...and I got that for the old lighhouse projects to be finished, you have to obtain the old glass made before glass was changed. It can't be made anymore by any means, but there is a bit to be found.

That is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Can the project be cancelled then? Because I cannot build another lighthouse, as "the location already has its maximum number of this object". I happily start again, if that is what Prog want...
Which is completely stupid. Doryiskom doesn't get a lighthouse because programming changed the name of glass without thinking of the consequences? That is utterly stupid.

The Programming Department didn't change the glass, so you're barking up the wrong tree. I changed it. The newer version of glass is harder to make, so if I left it so that machines could make both kinds to ensure that existing projects which would require glass could be completed, nobody would choose to use the newer type of glass.
There is a solution which doesn't require programming, but it'll need to be used only by people with a char who intends to make the glass to finish the projects. These people can contact me by PMs and we'll go from there.

I was told that, unlike random clothing disapperance like that, this is the deliberately chosen solution to the problem.
I'm not too sure I think it's a sane solution...I'm guessing they didn't want to make existing glass useless, or promote it into a more valuable material.

Not quite...there's a great deal of old glass lying around some places, which is what the spectacles appear to need. But there's no way to make more of it, so you can't make them from scratch. At least, not until they get switched to something new.
