Referring to the Harry Potter books: I think they were well written and had a good story line--I've read them all, but I'm not a fanatic. I've only read them once each.

And I never liked N*Sync--I was given their CD as a gift once when I was 10, and I gave it away--even then I wasn't that stupid. I've only liked 1 song that they came out with, "Pop" because it had a good beat. Otherwise, they sucked. Justin should have gone solo sooner--because he's awesome!

Sorry, Tiberius, but I'll have to disagree with you that it is just a fad. I don't like the Harry Potters books either (Dragonlance Rules!) but I think it is something that will last. But I'm acutally happy that Harry Potter has taken off. Now when all these kids grow up they will want something more adult like and will make the fantasy/sci-fi genre a bigger market meaning more stuff.

But there are better books out there than Harry Potter!!! C.S Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia" for example!! Or Star Wars!!! Those are good books!!!

Also *NSYNC are so cool!!! The dance moves and the outfits and the......so on. Makes me get goosebumbs thinking about how cool they are. And they are only 5th on my top 10!

Harry Potter books - I've read them, I am happy they are encouraging youth to read, especially larger books.

My holy grail of fiction/fantasy books is the "Birth of the Firebringer" Trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce. I borrowed them from the local library when I was young and they left a lasting impact on my mind. Imagine my chagrin as an adult trying to find them again - out of print and going for $200-$300 each second hand. It was FINALLY re-published in a 3 in 1 hardcover. Though I still have two of the three originals on my library.

There's a fairly good description on Amazon.com if you look it up. It's a refreshing approach on unicorns, their warrior society, their hereditary enemies and the coming of the "Firebringer"" who will change everything.

Never heard of the books mentioned by Pirate Lass. My favorite book series are the books by Sue Grafton. The main character is a forensic scientist, she solves crimes, every book's title is similar, such as "Q is for Quarry" (her most recent one) or "E is for Evidence". They're actually very good--and I usually don't like crime mysteries. =)

Ehmmm. Mr. Penguin. In case you didnt notice... They ARE childrens books. The fact that a lot of adults read and like them aswell... Nah, make your own conclusion.

Best Sci-Fi books I've ever read: Books by Tais teng. They're usually rather short books, mostly they're short stories bundled. But they are surprisingly original. If ever you become bored with those standard Sci-Fi/Fantasy books, read one of his.

LOTR is good, yeah, but it was the first in the genre, all later books were inspired by it and thus, - the standard 30 in a dozen, normal little prodigious serf kid saves world and pricess by accidently slaying Uber-demon story - makes it look like a completely uninspired book. But then it ALSO is a childrens book.

Owww... My second favourite is a book fm. 1956. Cantr remember the title, sommin with flying cities. Lots of theoretical, philosofical and math theories and too hard too read for kids, but surprisingly original still.

yes, no, sometimes. And do the cooking (yet have to meet a woman that cooks better then me), BUY the beer, do the common householdtasks (lousy at that) Feed the cat, bring out the trash, Feed the hamters too ( i think maybe there's a way combining the cat and hamster thing, easier and fun to watch ) restored the house (parts) and being a real sweet guy.

But WHY do women NEVER put the beer in the Fridge? I hate warm beer.

Some men can sit in front of the TV and watch football and drink beer and eat chips.
Some women can sit in front of the TV and watch home design shows and drink tea and eat chocolates.

Looking at them you would think they are lazy.
However they are content.
If you get the important stuff done then this is the reward.
The less you find important the easier it is to get there.
Some people will never let themselves be content.

Think of the guy watching football as Budda.

Though if given the opportunity I'd leave the US in a heartbeat. I actually may have a job opportunity in Germany, but it depends on what they are offering.
