Snipefest? more like target practice for GW!
And now for something completely different.
People have told Both my K and KF characters that TBR are a good government, better than the previous. What do your charries think? (all answers within CR)

I'm not sold...especially when they're desperately insisting that they didn't 'conquor' Karnon Seaside and that they're only there to do 'good'...
If you didn't have any suspicions, hearing that too often ought to produce them. Besides...they aren't exactly a charitable organization. Which the prior government of KF essentially was as far as I can tell.

Yeah, i find it funny still when people say TBR is bent for island domination. I mean i should know if we are bent for domination of the island or not you know.
West is just bitter that his crap goverment set up by his characters organization got knocked out along with his organization. That goverment wasnt doing anything, and i have been told ic numerous times it wasnt meant to do anything. Look past the little white lies that accompy the "thats the point it wasnt meant to do anything.' And you will see exactly what it was meant to do. Keep the Collective in a powerful postion. But it obviously failed horribly.
The prior government did nothing for the town, and it was meant to do nothing but keep the collective powerful there. My character, you all kno who he is im sure, has been told that the government was meant to do nothing. The town under tbr control has changed alot, citizens and tbr members alike have cots to sleep on now, food is cooked and handed out to whoever asks for it on a regular basis. New people recieve wooden shield and longbows, and if they ask hammers. Before the take over none of that was available and would not have been available. Tbr took action and made it happen. If you think they are a bad organization for doing something like that then well you are just plain dumb in my eyes.
And of course we took over the seaside, dont say it ic but say it freely ooc any use of it ic and well you know the trouble to follow. Not going to say why it was taken, just going to say yes we did take it, deal with it bud.
Tbr has had some trouble in the past, some stupid mistakes caused by people who were tribe members until they made those mistakes and were then callled renegade for what they had done, renegades who are all now dead, but that isnt known ic of course. Have had some pirates, Thanks West and Jerry (also collective members) use tbrs name to make us look even worse.

If the previous government didn't do anything (which was my information also, aside from some basic law enforcement) I fail to see how it brought any power to the Collective. Also...it was an open government. I recall that the Collective ran it because they couldn't convince anyone else to run for the offices most of the time.
The rest of what you're doing...Maybe it's just my diseased, paranoid mind, but I can't believe that TBR, an inherently selfish (nothing wrong with that) organization by design, is giving these things away for the fun of it. It's not too hard to see how they profit from every part of that...

I don't see how your point is valid, calling TBR selfish when I do not know of many other governments that hand out free weapons, shields, food, tools, and a place to rest. Is there anything else you can ask for, without getting ridiculous?

Back when I had my last character there, who met TBR, he wasn't quite sure if the group had understood his Tribe Law as he meant it or not.
That's the only firm memory I have of interaction with TBR. It won't mean much unless you were around that time, and even then it won't mean much to most. Aren't I brimming with useful information

TBR existed before they ruled, and I don't think they changed their entire meaning when they seized control of the forest.
Also...I would be a lot more worried about imperialistic (you can't deny that) TBR tossing goodies to the peasants than, say, the drojflings who rarely give out anything from their stores.

K-island is an imperialist island. Several groups are expanding, TBR was actually at least the third to expand to another territory.

True, K-island is an imperialist island. That much is certain.
That is why all of my Nonirowk characters were concerned when TBR seized control of KF. When the Collective was in charge, KF was not an imperialist power. With TBR in charge, it is.
No matter how "good" the current leaders might be, anyone who is old enough to remember Mason, or anyone who dealt with the rogue TBR group in the Kwor regions has reason to doubt the benevolence of the Tribe's rule. It just plain has a bad history. And the recent seizure of the Seaside hasn't exactly alleviated some of my characters' concerns.
Me as a player... I don't think that TBR wants to dominate the island. Not yet. But they certainly want to be in as comfortable a position of power as they can. And I think that if ever the Tribe got into a dominant position over all the other locations, it would only be a matter of time until some Mogul decided to try a conquest.
