I know that this is in the works--to give a better description of each type of vehicle--but I have one specific question.
I have a character who is considering making a bike. But there are two options available. A 'bike' and a 'bike cart'. Does that mean, in order to make the cart, he has to make the bike first? Or if he builds the 'bike cart' is he automatically getting the bike? The supplies needed for the 'bike cart' are considerably larger which would lead me to believe I get bike + bike cart. But I can't find anyone in game to tell me.
I would think that this would be answered simply if my character was looking at the schematics. Which is kind of what the Manufacturing list provides (i.e. you need two motorcycle tires and a motorcycle frame). If he was looking at similiar schematics for a bike, it would show that.
So, in my long rambling way, could someone please tell me the difference between the two bike options?

All vehicles in cantr are complete when you build them (except for motor vehicles, which use engines). They don't need to be combined, a bike cart is a bycicle-powered cart or something of the kind.
I don't know what I can tell you about them without going too far...that the cart can fit more is probably safe.

I am pro-vehicle descriptions, I think it would help for businesses decide if a truck is worth the extra work, or just how much faster a sportscar is. But I doubt we'll get it, so hopefully someone will discover it IC and share the wealth.
I would say that either of those is far too much information, probably. Cantrians aren't such supurb engineers they can tell exactly how something will perform before they've seen it, are they?
On the other hand, I'd like to see some qualitative descriptors...is a bus full-sized, or one of those little mini-busses? Is a passenger car larger or smaller on the inside than a sports car? I'd think if you know how to make something, you'd be able to tell that sort of thing.

The thing is, if you're making a car or a bike etc... you're going to know how big it is aren't you? Admittadly you wouldn't know exact speeds or exact amounts of resources it can hold but you'd have a rough idea. Say for example on the build a bike page it should give a description and say how much it roughly holds e.g. 25-30,000g.

Yeah I agree with TQ - It's not that Cantr people would be able to pinpoint to exactly the weight capacity etc. but when you build anything you have an idea of what you want to end up with.
It might be useul to even have a vague rating system so it doesn't specifically say Car Type A carries 20,000g but rather for weight capcity it would be a 3 out of 5. A Truck ould be 5 out of 5. (in the same way Arcade games differenciate between cars)
Ie.
Sportscar
Capacity: 2/5
Speed: 5/5
Reliability: 4/5 (If deterioration ever makes it's way in)
Bicycle
Capacity: 1/5
Speed: 1/5
Reliability: 5/5
etc. etc.
It doesn't tell us exactly what the vehicle can handle but it gives the Cantr citizen enough information to make an informed decision. This kind of thing could even just be kept in a Resource forum here on the boards so no programming would be neccessary to provide it.
