Yes, that as me. It hasn't come to fruition, because, mainly, I haven't started it. My original idea called for a goupr settling onto one of the unexplored islands, but we'd have our livers gnawed upon. Plan B: Start it as a cult of silly traditions, and apply liberally.

I might actually get this one off the ground. But I'd need another character for that, an I'm trying to keep it down. It be very high maitianance to have such a cult, you understand, and I'm trying to keep my priotites straight.

Give it a couple weeks.
Reality was never my strong point.

I'd like to see a consistent newspaper.

I don't care if it's full of blatant propaganda, I just want to read the paper! (sniffle)

Aye to that.

It would be really handy to all those charecters who never leave their workplace for years at a time. At least they would know what is going on.

The problem is you need someone with the time to write the articles for it, which takes more time than simply playing. It's been a long while since I've come across any regular publications.

I'd quite like to a see a super-state emerge, autocratic or republican, just be nice to see someone manage to hold together a nation that spreads more than a few days travel in a radius (I'm thinking 30 days travel, that's the test in my mind)

30 days, eh? Would both halves of Pok Desert satisfy you? I can't remember the travel time, but it can't be much less...

Same here, if K Island had more contact with other regions it would make a great super state. But if that ever happens its a long way away!

I was thinking back to the time when I almost had a regular mail run from Quillanoi to Siom, that's around 30 days as well, but encompasses a lot more terrian.

I'm not sure if a 30 day trip between two locoations could count, if it's just 2 locations it's not really a super state, just far apart

I had a Charrie spawn in Pok Harbour,1038, went down the wrong trail and went through the desert...I arrived in Puk on 1057... thats 19 days no food...I think one more day and she wouldn't have survived the hunger...

Well last I'd seen, Puk isn't doing all that well anyway. :)

Funny, my char crossed Pok Desert in about two days.

Course, a dirt motorcycle will do that.

My FIRST char in Pok Desert took well over two years to get one location into it.

He was on a road-building mission, though, so they were even worse than they are now.

I would like to see a society in Cantr that places a higher value on people's thinking abilities than their farming / slashing-people-up abilities (if such a place doesn't already exist). Somewhere where a person is considered pretty much worthless if they do not do not produce written works (poetry / stories / essays), sing or make music, or contribute to science or philosophy, in addition to their normal farming / manufacturing work. I'd really like to see a place where poor grammar is punished, or where everyone is required to speak in haikus or something like that. :D A character would be put in jail if they don't speak well (like those people that apparently can't capitalize or punctuate  ), and to get out they would have to . . . write a poem or something, and their punishment would be based on how well-written it is. :D

See, that's the kind of thing that causes worker revolts.

Were I a laborer in such a situation, let me tell you, I'd, to put it in the words of a good friend of mine, "Smoke you like it ain't no thang."

Actually, it crossed my mind once what if there was a place where you must talk in haikus, or in rhymes. But then I started thinking, what if there's an emergency? Should they figure out emergency poems in advance so that they wouldn't break the code? What if someone drops a hammer on their toes?

I would indeed like to see a place where you must talk properly but how could you explain ingame that typing all lowercase is considered muttering and is punishable? Or that capslocking is shouting? Or that if someone constantly spells wrong it's a literal error even if the result was pronounced the same way.
