Since there's all this talk about Karnon Forest and its history, I thought I'd resurrect this topic. It ran for most of the first half of that island's existence and you can read between the lines to find out a lot of history of the Forest.

Good stuff.

Guess I should have answered this question a year ago but yeah, Alex was offered to join the Collective.

:) I like Karnon Forest and its Recent Tension with Karnon, and i like the way it was not really recognised as peaceful, i have the benefit of a character on each side of the argument, it was really interesting to see how the two governments interacted with eachother and talked about eachother.

My character only read a couple notes after it sort of blew over (apparently peace was agreed). He sees the standing down as weakness on his sides part. He's also slightly concerned about the whole set up.

He's a bit out of the loop now, but will be interesting to see if anything else happens in that region (I expect it will knowing one person that I do)

One of my CHaracters is in the Karnon Army. he hopes that it doesnt come to fighting. My Karnon forest character is slightly nieve about a lot of people in the situation. he just thinks people will agree to get along, but will they?

My character is pretty nationalistic, and patriotic, or is it zealous...

Do you think my Karnon Character has reason to be worried? or that my KF character is too nieve for his own good?

(all answers within CR please)

Heh, my character there (and thus me) isn't up to speed on current (or past affairs) really, so no chance of CR breach there.

IMO, a war wouldn't be that devastating, because as far as I can tell neither side has enough man power to strike a decisive blow, or at least have organised themselves to make it easy to do that.

I reckon a war would be drawn out seige like with blockading roads and the such (based on what I know of the last one). Maybe some prisoners taken, but few if any fatalities. I also think that after abour 3 or so casualties someone would surrender (which my character would decry as lacking resolve)

*grin* yes, but Karnon Forest has no definite food supply, I think that the fields would be on the side of Karnon and the seaside on that of KF, so your right, it would be a prolonged siege. the format of cantr doesnt make waging a war very easy anyway.

ADDED: no CR breach will come of this i promise! (soooo worried bout the CR)

Cantr does lend itself to a very odd form of warfare. Prolonged seiges, neither side wanting to attack because places are easy to defend.

I wonder if an amendment to the dragging projects would help even things out. At the moment it's coded that you wait until you have enough people to drag something, but I think a struggling project would work better. The target struggles to break free, and the initiator struggles to drag them, people can join either side, which helps them.

I think that rudimentry suggestion would balance out the way warfare works to make actually attacking somewhere less of a one way trip (unless you happen to be able to equip all your people with crowbars and healing foods, which isn't always an option)

True, that is an idea. You know during the conflict people in the army of Karnon died, but only cause they were careless. a few prisoners were taken by both sides i think. more by KF.

Wrong. For one, Karnon Forest has survived on grilled meat for a long time.
Secondly, Karnon Seaside being TBR controlled, they have another source for readily available food.

I mentioned Karnon Seaside.... thus indefinite siege.
