I dunno...I've got one character, I think one of my better played ones really, who has good (internal) reason to be a perpetual wanderer, and sometime criminal. He could stop someday, but it'd take a lot to convince him.

Another of my characters is developing a bit of concealed loathing for all land-dwellers. He'd probably loathe everyone, but he doesn't really meet other seafarers much.

I'd say that once you've had a ship, it's not unreasonable to never want to settle. And if you've no strong ties offboard, and spend most of your time out of reach at sea...crime follows naturally.

Land-based crime...now that's impressive, when it's not pathetic.

If I remember right you can't bust a lock that's unlocked. Which I thought to be kind of cheap. That should be fixed.

I know someone who should be writing here, the chick who stole Maline's stuff she'd dropped in a bout of psychosis. Oppoturnity makes a thief but stealing from a dying woman is pretty damn low. I hope you're proud of yourself, who ever you are. (That Maline had snatched half that stuff from the tower doesn't count, that's like stealing office supplies! )

The best haul I ever had was when some serious inactive died, and I got his keys, not really stealing, but you should have seen how much stuff I found stashed away, it was like Aladdin's Cave, with a shortcut through Fort Knox to The Tower of London's Crown Jewels.

If that's called stealing then Jaina got pretty lucky, a bunch of keys, three buildings of which one with a back room, a tandem bike, a longboat, crowbar, shield, weapons, supplies... you name it. But you can't run away with buildings and there's no intention to, so you gotta understand getting hold of all that means a shitload of responsibility. But I don't think it's a loss, even though some days the boys are just driving her nuts.

You can't run away with buildings, but just running away with the keys can be worth it if you're not willing to also steal the mantle of leadership.

A long time ago, some guy gave Maria Herron a lot of stuff, and she didn't even know him, other than his name. It wasn't a CR breach on my part . . . I'm still really confused about that whole incident. The stuff included iron, steel, lots of valuable weapons, a car  , and plenty of other things. I'm pretty sure they were all stolen. Out of curiosity, did the Bandit end up getting all of Maria Herron's things?

Then another of my characters cleans her town up, and has a huge stockpile of things she's collected over the years. Somewhat recently a guy died, and in his building is the largest collection of junk (some valuables, then lots of meat and crap) I've ever seen. Now she has thousands of grams of iron, wood, tools, clothing, salt, more buildings to add to her collection (including a multiple-room home! :D ) and plenty more . . . And she doesn't intend to use or get rid of most of it. :) She's kind of old, so someone will be very happy when she eventually dies.

Stole 2 kilos of steel from the Stone Knights.

Back before I unsubscribed.

You were gone?

Seriously, though, welcome back.

It's stealing like that I like the best: The Stone Knights don't really miss the 2k steel, the thief didn't die, everyone wins.
