A couple of my charries have come across Ms. Andaru Treefeather on the island with Pok, Blojt, Seatown, Olip, etc. She is currently spreading her new visual map. It is the most amazing map in the game, I'd venture to say. Covers the entire island! It's not quite to scale, but no complaints here.
There is also a fine encyclopedia, written by a Mr. Hobbes, I believe. It's in the same general area, and it includes not only a collection of maps, but also quite a bit of information concerning machines, tools, etc.
Praises to the players of both of those characters!

I'm playing what started out as a mapmaker and has turned instead into a travel guide writer.
The Treefeather map is amazing. So is the Alshott map, which is also visual. My guide writer also found one that she really liked, but which turned out to be a map of some other island. She kept it, and will probably put it into her book when it's ready.

That's mighty impressive.
The Hobbes map (post-1100 version) now maintains these for geographic purposes:
-A Visual Map of the Siom Island (including the inland location of every stem area [i.e. Sjoftich Area, Blaman Area...etc], Accurate Proportions for Sailing and basically all the coastal towns pointed out)
-A Treefeather Visual of the Krif Island (including each location [minus resource info - though available on request], accurate proportions for sailing as according to the Rigel Starseeker Map, and it is borrowed with permission)
-An Armedian Koloff Map (It's a shame that the player quit before maping out the whole island)
-Rylan Ashcroft "Map of the Known World" (Lad Area-with some errors, corrected by the Hobbes/Armedian Maps)
Thus, this eliminates the need for the Rigel Starseeker Map and the Jenny McGrath Maps, who contribute to the maps already there.
-It also maintains a full log giving instructions on how to get to and from each island, machine outcome data as well as some weapons requirement data. In the journal, a lot of the predominant characters of the coastal towns get some sort of mention, as well.
p.s. Jack, check your PMbox.

Yes, Dirt's map is quite good too. Mapping is such an art form in Cantr. Sure, text maps are informative and useful, but there's just some quality to a hand-made visual map. I hesitate to use the term 'hand-made,' but in a sense, creating a map using a program is 'hand-made!'
None of my chars have had the patience to try to sketch anything out, but they all keep records of where they've been. Resources, exits, etc.

Map makers are rare as most newspawns have a rather large choice of maps already made. I had a map maker back in the 500s named Sandra Beeches around the Seatown Area. She had the entier Seatown, Drojf, Plaukur, and Krif region mapped out visually until she dies when my account got deleted. I think if she didn't die that Seatown Forest wouldn't have bee what it is today as she was one of the next in line after Maily Yumms.

Most likely but I wasn't too far down the line. 2nd or third I'd have to say. All I know is that she would be higher up then then the current leader. Well I haven't actually seen the forest in operation for about 15 Cantr years so who knows what's going on now a days.
