No, no...the latter is the good one. If it were(or is) the former, it would mean we could expect our characters to spend days to weeks with no one at the reins...starving in many cases, or sailing off course, or just not working when they need to be.

It's known that players cannot access their characters, whether or not they can log in, because of the lock-out.

We hope to be able to do a lot of work (maybe all of it) over the weekend.

Our plans do definitely not include a downtime of 2 weeks.

Cantr II is temporarily offline as we are in the process of moving to a new, larger, faster server. Once the server is back up, we will inform all players by email. If you are a new visitor to the site, please do not give up and come back in a few days! Cantr is too cool to miss ;) ...

The Cantr II discussion forum will be online a bit longer than the main site, but will also go offline for a while at some point.

We apologise for any inconveniences caused, especially for the more addicted players among us ;) ...

It is the case if you break the rules, as I tested and concluded to.
Julie, you should listen to Jos;

Otherwise, you're cheating Cantr out of advertising revenue. And maybe other reasons, I don't know.

For Pete's sake., Nick a) what makes you think I bookmarked that page? ( you're wong, incidentally) b) what's it matter , now, when the page is no longer accessible anyway?
(or is it still accessible, if you bookmarkd it? Is that what you're saying? And how the heck would you know that---unless you bookmarked it yourself?)

Update: We have worked many hours on the transfer now.

We made good progress. The forum, for example, is running on the new server now. Flyspray is still on the old one. All game databases have been transferred.
Some small, yet important, scripts have to be updated so that they point to the correct places, our code versions system is not in place yet, and some other smaller things have to be adjusted.

Mail to *@cantr.net from the outside is not working. That one is a bigger problem. We can't figure out what's wrong, at the moment. It's probably just a problem of waiting till all DNS entries point to the correct machines.

All in all, things are going well. Now it's more a problem of finding the time to fiddle with the remaining bits to be able to safely unlock the game.

Does that mean the forum has been down and will now stay online? Or has that not happened yet?

I'm a confused person.

The forum was indeed down, so I would think
The forum, for example, is running on the new server now.

means that it was down, got moved over, and started up again.
