I don't really like it when they make so much hype about it being close the the book and they change it a lot. I can understand editing parts out to keep it moving, but adding things in such as Aragon's romance with that elf who I don't think was in the original books, or was at the very least not involved with Aragon.

There were references to the romance between Aragon and Arwen in the books. It just never took center stage in the books like they have in the movies.

it was actually a big part of the book, in the backstory...in the appendices there's a story about how they first met...but in the actual narrative she has almost no role...she does weave him a banner for the battle of Pellennor fields, though. And she marries him later.

From the list, Star Trek is my favorite. The Next Generation, to be more precise. Almost every episode is a moral lesson.
Not on the list, but Sliders was my favorite sci-fi TV show. Much like Stargate SG-1, where a group of travellers slid, or leaped through alternate dimensions. I liked it because of that one common theme, with each world being almost completely different than the last. Stargate is travel through the same universe.
You know what, Quantum Leap was probably my favorite before that. One man travelling through time, becoming different people. Maybe not changing the world as a whole, but making individual lives better.
And about the scariness of some movies, Dumbo was the scariest. When the mouse gets drunk and all those pink elephants are marching around. Scary!

I forgot all about Sliders but I think Sci-Fi killed the series after it left FOX. I personally thought the series should have gone in a different direction than it had.
And when they killed off the best character (the Professor) in the show that was the point the series started sinking.
The same thing could be said about the X-Files, when they solved the mystery of Mulder's sister and Scully believed everything about the Aliens the show was no longer the show anymore. The whole point of the series was for Mulder to find out what happened to his sister and for Scully to believe. When those were solved, the series began to slip.
I really hate how they ended X-Files, too. They never answered any of the quetions that they said they would answer and in fact created more questions. I think they are only setting it up for the another movie in the near future. I think it might be good idea to involve the next movie about Mulder and Scully's child after he has grown up. I think a pretty good story can be made about that.

Sliders was created on FOX after the rights to Dr. Who went into the court system. FOX made a Dr. Who single show/ sort of pilot episode in '99. Then the BBC was sued over it by some people were given the rights to the seris but never did anything with it. Sliders was the subsitute.
Not that I didn't like it, I did.

Still have to say that Babylon 5 is the best scifi show out there. It is about the only show to be mapped out from begining to its end throughout its timeline. It had the chars from when they were young to when they were much older and how everything that has happened has affected their lives and plays a part in their future. Also interesting to see all of the different governments (alien races) The show sort of reminds me of Cantr
of how all the different governments co-exist and seeing how things changed. Well, just have to say that Babylon 5 is the best scifi show. It has the best plots and story lines and some amazing speeches!
