Stuck Boat?

Postby Rucifa » Mon Feb 28, 2005 2:16 pm

Hi, I sent an email a few days ago to the players dept, but I still haven't heard back so I thought I would try here. I've got a couple of questions that I would like answered, sorry if they have been asked and answered before but I don't have time to read all the posts.

1. Is it possible to sail a boat to the edge of the map and if so does the boat stop as if it's reached land or will it continue to think that it is sailing even though it's not going anywhere?

2. I've got a boat lost out at sea somewhere, because of the large amount of time that has passed since I last saw land, I don't even know if my boat is moving of if it has become stuck somehow. All I've seen for ages now is blue all around the red dot.

Could someone please tell me if the boat is still moving or if it has become stuck. In real life I would be able to see some sort of bow wave or wake to let me know that I was actually moving forward. The boat is called "The Albatross" and the Charaters on board are named Falcon and Silentia. I'm not asking to be moved closer to land I just want some confirmation that the boat is still moving and not stuck.

Cheers & Beers

In answer to #1:

We'll never know that outside the game. There's been much discussion, but the only answer is: find out yourself.

I don't know how exactly everything in Cantr works, but it is known that there are large area's of water in Cantr. You're not the first one getting completely lost at sea. It is supposedly to be possible to sail over water for (Cantr-)years without seeing any land.

In other words: you're screwed...

(Ralph, I don't want to disquiet you now, just don't read the following question  :P )

What happens to a boat floating on a sea, when the entire crew starves? Will it keep on moving? Or will it disappear?

I know this doesn't really fit in here and I also don't know if this had been asked before somewhere, but I was temporarily overcome by a stray feeling of interest in it :D

If the speed is at anything other than "0" it's moving. We can't tell you any more then that. But yes, it's common knowledge that there is a LOT of water in Cantr and you can sail for a long, long time without seeing anything.

I know when I'm lost though I try to retrace my steps - you always know what's behind you. ;)

Happy sailing!
