A) Don't get caught.
B) Don't turn around so you can get thrown in jail.
C) Don't forget to beg like a little girl if you do get caught.

The three D's of crime. Enjoy.

Erm.. hate to say it, but I was right when I said the three D's of crime. If you look real real closly you can see each one starts with a word beggining with the letter D. Uh oh, caught ya!

i think he's just pointing out that he is indeed aware of the 4th letter, which is D, despite claims to the contrary.

I was on vacation once, and when I logged on from home, I was locked in a room with two amateur murderers. I said hello to them, and then they killed me with their next hit.

Well jail isn't usually a place where people like to be. However, I feel when people lock you up just to have you starve is poor roleplaying. There should be some intent to release you later on (right now I'm talking about government jails; not murderer jails)

Starving's not a bad way of killing someone, even for a government. Especially if you lock up someone too tough for you to fight.

If a government has a habit of locking people up and starving them when they don't claim to be performing a death sentence...I'd say that's an IC concern for their people, not an RP failure. Well, it could be both.

I have a character that has been a prison guard for quite awhile. He truly feels he is seeing justice served and gives his honest opinion on whether the person is guilty of the crime or not. I try to get him inside every other day to say a few things and gather more information from the prisoner. Sometimes, though, the prisoner gets introduced to his halberd... But for the most part, he tries to keep them fed, tries hard to get the information from both parties to set the situation to right.

Unfortunately, he gave his key away recently to run an errand by his superiors and it hasn't been returned. The guy should be enjoying his 'vacation' but he's truly worried that his prisoner may be starving. And now with the server transfer, he's anxious to get back inside and see if the alleged thief is still breathing.

Ah... I know who you are Capt. Morbious. Keep reminding the person whom you gave the key to. They've probably just forgotten about it. And if they're in the meeting, just knock. We don't want any unfortunate prisoner starving.

Feeding prisoners..? *sigh* Oh, that makes me think, has anyone in Cantr gotten a lifetime sentence yet? Atlantis in Krif was doing one, right? Usually in a situation like that the player would soon get the character deleted or just ignore it totally. But imagine staying in character if you have to stay in the same goddamn room for years and years, with no human contact. *shivers*

Has it been two years for Gahak I don't remember, can't bother counting days anymore. But seems to me he's losing it already. Shouldn't be long and I have yet another nutcase to take care of. But it's just a few years in the end. Imagine a decade. Imagine a lifetime. Thank God for suicide options!

I remember someone in Doryskom who was in there for years (10-20) or something outrageous like that. I think he was released and immediatly stole a bike and that was the last I heard of him. I can't remember his name though.

Certainly... I'd say a life sentence is more common than any other length of sentence. Even in Quillanoi, you rarely see a prisoner released.

What is a good thing, not just in Cantr but in real life, is to not make idle threat.

For example, even if there being assholes, just be nice, and be very very charismatic and well spoken.

Non of this "I swear I'll kill you once I get out!" stuff.

That will just get you killed, or make them unsympathetic.

Best course of action= Be nice and co-operative, be very polite, perhaps compliment them on catching you, and they'll likely feed you, give you something to do, talk to you, let you out earlier, or let you outside to do some manuel labour, and then you can make your escape, prefferably in a vehicle, after having given the entire town a black eye.

Which is why killing prisoners is the best option. Trust no one. People never change in this game. Perhaps in real life, but not here. Once a lying cheat, always a lying cheat. They get out of jail, they will hold a grudge and rob you blind. Kill all criminals, all the time. A reformed criminal is meely a live person that will screw you later. Debate me all you want, but I have never met a rehabilitated person in Cantr in my years hee. There is no remorse, there is no changing of heart, there is no seeing the customs of the region, there is only ignorance and a lack of will to live.
