How about whales in some of the places bordering the sea? They were (and still are) a huge part of many cultures. Killing one would be extremely tough, but it would provide enough meat and blubber and bone for a whole village. If fishing from boats is ever implemented, maybe whales could only be found out in the sea, and this would provide a whole new profession for sailors besides the usual exploring and trading and piracy. (And hey, new weapon; the harpoon
)
ROFL! That site actually had me going for awhile...

I haven't read this entire thread, either, but in towns with a lot of unburied bodies, I'd like to see vultures show up. They're non-aggressive (vultures can't effectively pierce living flesh), and perhaps they could be our first animal that eats the dead?
Or at least vultures. But non-aggressive. Because what you really don't need in a town with 30 dead guys is a bunch of birds showing up to push you around, too.

or just scavenging as part of animal's behaviour. I heard that animals are being programmed to be individual, and possibly move about, a few more attributes could be introduced, like eating things just left on the ground, and a few scavenging at dead bodies...
We also need smaller animals - mice, rats, voles, small birds - things that can be easily killed - even with bare hands - gives those in areas where there's no food and if they have no weapons or are very tired, a chance to get something to eat...
Oh, and one of those attributes should be the ability to dress up animals (a little mouse with clogs on!)
Ok - now I really should just shut up...
