Disposable/cheap tools + Wooden Transport?

Postby Antichrist_Online » Thu Dec 23, 2004 9:23 pm

I think the new intoduction of deteriation merits the introduction of cheap tools with very short life spans. These would speed up work in the short term allowing people to progress onto the better more advanced tools. The idea is people will make the parts in one area, take them to where they want and build the tools when needed. The following are examples:
Stone Axe head
100g stone

Stone Axe- 450g wood/day
Stone Axe head
Small wooden shaft
Deteriates after 2 years.

Wooden Shovel - same as shovel
500g wood
Deteriates after 1.5-3 years (not sure on the amount)

Hafted Pick Axe - 2/3 the collection rate of a pick axe
500g stone
small wooden shaft
Deteriates after 1year.

These would be in-line with current technologies in cantr and allow development to happen faster than before. The other suggestion is a simple wooden cart to transport goods, the cart should travel at normal walking speed, but allow more goods to be transported.

Wooden Hand Cart
3000g Wood
Hammer

Push cart is already in game. Just not public, until vehicles are split into parts. Then you'll have your cheap-ass push cart, you whiners! *Shakes a fist* AND GET OFF MY LAWN!

I definitely like the idea. I'll try to bring it by TJ.

So is the push cart / wagon going to be public any time soon, or am I just blindly overlooking it in the manufacturing menus? I'm just dying for the "bring out your dead" guy, Tevya, and Mr. Haney to be able to come rolling through town! Oh, wait. Mr. Haney could use a van...

I'm sorry man, but it's not.

Currently, vehicles being split into parts is still in the planning stage, on paper. I'm near completion, I'm actually doing the boats right now, but once that's done, and TJ and the Resources team approves it (And the GAC, probably, because it is a big change) THEN the push-cart will be added into the game.

I COULD add one, temporarially, but it would be stupid when down the road it'll just change what's needed to make it.

But then again, everything will change. Soo... Maybe. Give me some time to think about it, make sure everything is balanced, and I might add the push-cart temporarially.

production broken down into components. high end weapons, for instance, have already been changed to follow this pattern, and most other stuff will follow.
