Problem resting

Postby Razorlance » Sun Jan 30, 2005 1:36 pm

Now that we can rest, I thought I would try out a cot in one of my characters location. It had already been used by another character but they joined another existing project and the resting project disappeared. But when I try and use the cot I get the 'already in use by another character message'.

Is it possibly the resting project hasn't 'disappeared' properly possibly because the character joined the existing project and not started a new one of there own?

I may be seing the same thing. I've never seen a cot working correctly, but it seems that either you can't tell who's using the cot or you can't use the cot again after it's been used once...either way a glitch.

(note: appreciate resting greatly)

Keep in mind, I've heard that you can DIE from full tiredness.
I think this is Jos' little way of saying "F*** YOU, BANDWIDTH JUNKIES!"

My character has been at full tiredness quite often, and sneezed several times in that state, but no damage was inflicted, too my relief :)

And yes, resting 'machines' good. :D Progressive tiredness bad

Nonsense. (Except perhaps in a very indirect sense - too tired to protect yourself against animals or so.)

Even greater nonsense.

Did I complain about bandwidth junkies recently?

And you can indeed not see what bed is used (I don't know how to easily implement that), and the fact that you could not use the cot again would be a bug. In my test env. I didn't encounter it, though :( ...

That was a joke, Jos.
Those of us with any sense realise that any errors are just that... errors.
The reason they go on for a couple of days is not to torment us, but because you have other things to do.

At least one person realises that much, then!

Oh, did I point out that swearing tends to be unnecessary, Nick? *grins*

I'll leave it alone though. It's not excessive...

Could I please confirm whether anyone has tried resting on a cot in a docked longboat, and that it works OK.

I've a character who was only half tired or so and he's been resting for days now. I get the "(R)" on the main page, and on the char page info saying his resting is 0% complete and also providing me with an "X" to cancel the project.

Currently he's shown as 0% tired. Am I supposed to cancel such projects manually or must I wait until they complete by themselves? What are the implications of cancelling them manually?

And please don't tell me I must find out in-game. I'm really not in the mood.

Resting is an infinite project, it lasts as long as you stay in it.
