You know, OOC, that there is closer limestone than Jakara, yes? But that's OOC.
The character in question may not know. And if they don't, then heading for Jakara is perfectly acceptable. If the character notices limestone along the way, then presumably it will stop and gather limestone there.
Of course, you've mentioned so many things here that should not really be publicly mentioned, such as the existence of limestone in Jakara, that the PD should probably be talking to YOU.
Also, a player who is RPing to the best of their ability would have no problem at all anyway with their characters meeting. Because they would play them separately. Most people are not capable of that, so the next best thing is keeping them apart except when necessary. And yes, sometimes it IS necessary for IC reasons.
And if you feel you'd be pounced on by the PD for doing a similar thing, they maybe you have a reputation for doing things like that and breaking the CR? In which case, I don't think you should be commenting at all!
(The above is my personal opinion, and unrelated to me being staff.)

I've been pounded on by the PD. It's a very selective pounding. Everything I do and have ever done in Quillanoi, has never been mentioned, not one letter in 2 years. I have recieved so many letters from the PD about Blojt, it's a joke. My charaters act no different in Quill. then they do in Blojt. When the staff nominates there biggest cheaters in the game to chair positions, then look at some of others and place so called "reputations" on them, that's a joke. I bet, this julie2, could have 3 characters in Jakara and never recieve 1 letter about. I on the other hand, would. So it's not a fair and just system.

Julie is a new player. So, indeed she wouldn't get a 'pounding', whatever that's supposed to mean. She would get links to Cantr's rules, along with the suggestion to read the, to understand them, and to ask questions in case of problems.
You, on the other hand, are a long-term player, very experienced, with a good understanding of our rules, and with the sometimes complex implications. So, if you, say, happen to have your characters in Blojt 'selectively' harrass characters of palyers you coincidentally happen to have a long-time grudge against, then the PD acts on that information. If your characters issue OOC statements as well, the PD acts on that. Of course they do! And of course it's selective! You wouldn't want to get randomly pounded, would you?
Anyway, we're also always open to suggestions on how to improve our protocols. If you have any ideas, let us know.
To all others: You're welcome, too, to suggest procedures. They shouldn't include 'Do what you want with all others, find them instantly, punish them hard, but leave me alone', though... We tried that, and it's not working.

A third was traveling with somone elses charrie, and is now there also, but again, they don't interact..(that one will soon be leaving) It all depends on the town size, in larger towns it is easy to have multiple charries together and they never actualy meet.
Yeah, and that's how you SHOULD RP characters that happen to intermingle. I'd be bugging you if you were a new player, but you're not. On the other hand, if one of your characters that are in the same location came from FAR away, THEN, I might be skeptical.

Well put.

That's how I feel, in principle. If the PD would leave players alone who know what the rule is and not to break it, I wouldn't have said anything. But if I was to say, "Yeah, I have a character who needs hematite, from Siom, so I think he will head to Brunoi (where my other character is, hypothetically) to get it. What? There's hematite on the way? I didnt know that...." I would get talked to in a similar manner as I talked to her. What I am suprised in is people like you, Revenael, that are disagreeing with me. I wonder if it is the principle, or if you just like to argue with me.

That's another thing. PD shouldn't even worry about this. If someone wants to find limestone in that region, and is willing to break the CR to do so, it is only TOO easy. Who doesn't have a character with access to a map of that region? Maybe if this was the 300's... but this is the 1000's.
But, I guess in effect I solved the problem anyway. Don't think she'd band her characters together after this...

Well, I’ve read the rules and I think I understand the implications reasonably well, so feel free to give me a “pounding” (whatever that is) if I break them. What Sunny Daez and Ravanael said sums up my understanding pretty well, and I was pretty confident that having two characters briefly cross paths would not be perceived as a problem in itself.
There’s something really curious going on here. Nick wants to hold me accountable for what he BELIEVES my intentions to be (ignoring the fact that I’d have to be an imbecile to make it so obvious, and also conveniently ignoring the fact that Serendipity and her friends are planning on leaving Jakara very soon- as his own character knows, full well, so he ought to be last to accuse me of banding my characters together) Chrissy wants to hold the PD accountable for what she BETS they would do in a hypothetical situation..
OK so I bet that Nick is going to poison the water supply of the nearest large city, given half-a-chance.
So let’s all howl him down for that, shall we?
By the way, can anybody confirm Nick’s assertion that there is limestone somewhere between Jakara and Lake Village? I suspect that Nick just assumed this without consulting the maps and doesn’t like to admit he was wrong. If it exists, its been added comparatvely recently, because it isn’t on any of the maps that any of my characters have seen. Unlike Nick, I'm willing to keep an open mind about that, though.

Are you trying to get me angry or something?
Is there a point to this?
Yeah, you're right, I made up the fact that there is limestone on the island. None in the world in fact, or Cantr for that matter. And I'm not "going to" poison the nearest water supply. I already have. I'm a sick human being, what can I say. Oh ya, drink bottled water.
I never said "YOU BROKE THE CAPITAL RULE", I just said, that you should be careful, and you proceeded to be a [censored] about it.
Now can you drop this or do you need to post a couple more times before you feel cool?

You didn't get my point. In a perfect world, what you just said will work fine. But most players - and if you've been yelled at by the PD for anything, that rules you out - could not be trusted with such a system, so we have things the way they are. Understand me yet?

For anyone who is playing within the rules, Nick, it is irrelevant whether another of your characters knows the location of something because THAT ONE DOESN'T. And as said above, some players cannot be trusted not to use any OOC information they have access to. And as you said to me last night, it would be EASY to cheat without the PD catching you, for many experienced players. But most long-term players wouldn't - or so we would hope.

As I just said, such information should NOT be revealed anywhere OOC. If you have any further questions like this, asking the PD directly tends to be a better idea than asking on the forums.
EDIT: Oooh! 1000th post!
Just typical it's one like this, isn't it?

And you didn't get my point. I'm saying that the PD is not perfect. If you have been emailed by the PD it does NOT mean you are a bad player, or that you "can't be trusted with anything".

Um, that is kind of what I was saying... that anyone could, if they were willing to break the CR, just look at another character's map and find out that there's limestone in Jakara. Me saying this on the forum or not does not mean people will cheat more, or cheat less, was the point I was trying to make.
And as you said to me last night, it would be EASY to cheat without the PD catching you, for many experienced players. But most long-term players wouldn't - or so we would hope.
If you're insinuating something, take it up with the PD, as I know I follow the rules. And I'd appreciate you not to quote Yahoo chats, especially when you take it out of context like this.

Are you kidding me? See, this is why I'm still mad. You guys have it all turned around, and always have. I'm not some kind of bully. I don't take action, I react to things. If I'm flipping out, it's because someone has CENSORED with me. Now, I might let them do it a few times and not saying anything, but it builds, then I flip out. Per character, per situation. There is no carried grudge in the game. I don't do that, unlike others.
I restate, the same, exact, things, have happened in Quillanoi, no one says a word, or in any other town, if it happens in Blojt, bam, letter within minutes. I know there's something fishy going on.
You guys repeatedly have ignored the facts, and for some freakish reason, really believe I am the guilty party. I know why that is. Because I'm the type to say CENSORED it, if you don't believe me. I'm not going to make up pages lies to get you on my side.
The point is, all is not right with the system. And whenever some CENSORED (use "something" next time?) goes down that's really foul, and I do tell you guys, you come back at me saying, "I think there's been a misunderstanding." And there hasn't been. And I know why that is. Refer back to the previous paragraph.
I have messengers so now the playing field is a little more balanced. The next time some CENSORED pops off, I'll get on the messenger then maybe once and for all you'll see who the liar is.

Gah, split the goddamn topic, this discussion sure doesn't belong here. If you want to accuse someone for breaking the rule, there's a separate area for that. I'm sure everyone breaks the CR knowingly or unknowingly, be it a big breach or a small one but everyone does it. And of course long-time players are supposed to know the rules better. No one is ganging up on you but of course you seem more suspicious if you have done some shady shit in the past. And about limestone on the way to Jakara, I don't remember any sign of such thing on the maps. So the maps suck. People have no IC knowledge so they cannot use such thing, thus they go a long way. It's stupid to think that everyone knows the same things you do, and besides you should learn away from such thinking in Cantr. If one of your characters finds a good map then the others shouldn't suddenly start wandering to the secret locations they don't know about. Shut up already.

Chrissy, mind your language too.
If you have complaints about the way the PD acts, then take it up with the GAC. Complaining here will get you absolutely nowhere. And will get no sympathy from me.
If the PD have been treating people unfairly - which I doubt - then presumably something will be done about it. But making a bug fuss and a fool of yourself publicly on the forums will NOT help you.
EDIT: Topic split.
