Heck, at this point I'd welcome a Dark Age with open arms. Let's have a few oppressive overlords, or droves of bandits roaming around virtually unchallenged, or a crusade, or a revolt, or SOMETHING. Right now it's more like an Ice Age. I try to roleplay or start a conversation and no one answers.
I've got a character in a large town with 30+ people, and the most exciting thing that's happened in the last three days is that some guy finished a carrot project. Seriously, when I used to play Cantr I'd meet more interesting people *between* the towns than I'm finding *inside* them now.
Another character, I'm having slightly more fun with as she actually found someone to talk with for a little while, but they've been seperated now and in the last several days about the only person she's seen is one illiterate newspawn. Now all she's doing is wandering around a series of forests trying to find someone awake enough to trade for food with before she starves.
My last character is probably the most interesting right now, but even that's not saying much. She's also in a large town (right next to the one my first chars in, actually), I'm havign fun with her personality quirks, and there are at least a few people that will talk on and off, but it's all just idle chitchat; nothing's actually *happening*.
I'm seeing tons of apparently abandoned newspawns, but that doesn't bother me as much as all of the silent older characters. I mean, these are the people that run businesses, hold important positions, have access to iron or steel, and just generally have the means to get out there and DO something, and instead it looks like they're all in hibernation.

Hmmm. I need a legion of loyal, AWAKE followers and a lost holy land, STAT!

Well, it’s been well over two rl months now since people started complaining bigtime about tiredness ruining their characters lives, hopes and ambitions as well as their interest in Cantr.
We were told to hold on, that things would get better (they haven’t).
We were given hints that beds and cots would help (they don’t).
It was suggested that we would find ways to deal with the tiredness (except for making resource gathering projects big instead of small I’m not aware of anything that helps).
We were told to quit if we didn’t like it (a lot of good roleplayers did and a lot of others just don’t seem to be roleplaying anymore).
I don’t understand why none of the powers that be appear to care that Cantr seems to be dying. There is hardly even any forum talk anymore. We are suppose to vote on sites to pull in gamers who aren’t interested in this kind of game while the players who really want to be playing are bored to tears at the inactivity of their characters. I don’t get it.

I guess the thing I dislike the most about the changes is the way they all work together, almost as if they're designed to mesh in a way that saps the fun out of everything. One by itself wouldn't be so bad, but the way it is now it seems like if you run into one problem, it can completely derail you to the point that it's incredibly difficult to resolve the others.
And even if by some miracle your character does find a way to avoid or work around the worst of the problems, they *still* can't do anything significant because no one's awake to help them.

I agree. This has been a really bad week for me. When a grouping like that of the Nossé begins to die, then... Put it this way, I've never considered myself a player with really heightened sensitivities, and I'm certainly no great rp'er, but I was almost reduced to tears this week.

I agree that the recovery rate is much to slow. I understand that Cantrian life is not equal to humans, but c'mon, this slow rate of recovery prevents you from taking down a loud mouthed , run away thief, who steals years of your hard work. If the thief steals healing foods, you shoot until you exhaust yourself, he gets to heal from the arrows immediately, you suffer for a year or more to recover from chasing him. It seems to me that being the "good guy" isn't as desirable as being a thief anymore. "good guys" have to give up the chase or die trying to catch him. Is there a way to recover from tiredness that NO ONE has figured out yet????

I brought up the same arguement a while back when we were discussing Pirates. I think Cantr Physics is on the side of the Pirates and Thieves. The way they can dock, kill, steal, and undock in moments... the way a small boat can dock on a large boat, steal, and undock but their boat can not be boarded... The way you get tired attacking a runaway thief, but if the thief dodges an attack or two and has healing foods, you will tire out and have to watch the thief slip away.
The reponse I got was that the rules and laws of life wouldn't be changed to help the "good guys" and we must learn to adapt and deal with it. We aren't looking for programmers to make the game easy for governments or non-thieves, just limit all the loop holes and game design that majorly favor the thief getaway.

The way the system works currently makes healing foods the most valuable thing a thief can steal. If a miscreant spawns somewhere with onions and something else, you can count on them getting away with no consequences whatso ever, leaving a wake of well armed exhausted followers.
The best defense is a bunch of active strong saber arms.

Right, well... after the tiredness reset, characters seemed to add about 9.75 to 10% tiredness by hour 2, irrespective of project completion. Now, assuming that this is a daily process, what's to stop players figuring out when that process occurs and hauling their charries off projects temporarily? You know, the micromanaging types.
Surely, if work is done hourly, then tiredness should accumulate hourly also?
Oh and by the way, if this is hourly, then it's the bug reoccuring, and we'll all be near death again by tomorrow night...
