Suggestion: require to type your password to unsubsribe your account
OR
Completely take away the ability to unsubscribe, so you would have to wait for 2 weeks without doing anything for your account to go away
OR
After you unsubscribe you have 2 days to 'undo' what you did

I like the first idea better
These ideas aren't mine either

With how fast people can starve to death, why do we have an unsubscribe option? Just so you can quit playing faster? If you want to keep it fast, but make it not accidental, I think entering your password is a must have.
I haven't had this problem. If you had, why not put over on flyspray as a requested Feature?

I can relate. I would deeply feel the loss as would several communities. At least for a couple weeks. Everyone seems to accept everything or die within 2 weeks.
I would be crushed. It would be very not cool. It's like leaving a hand grenade in a daycare. It should be fixed.

Agreed. The number of people who have accidentally unsubscribed or been accidentally unsubbed is surprising.
A password field should be required.
Alternately, take out the "X" button on the main page and put the unsubscribe thing in your account settings area, right near the active/on leave button. Makes more sense there anyway.

I'm not dead; I'm dormant.
