Crazy things done during downtime.

Postby Agar » Mon Jan 10, 2005 8:47 pm

Cantr left for 2 days, and when it came back, I had 5 mins left ...

So, while it was down, after I gnawed through the leather straps, I had to find something to do in between refreshing cantr's non-existant page every couple minutes.

I found a dark room and then escaped.

It's actually a good puzzle game:

http://woolythinking.com/html/darkroomIE.html?o=0o

The first day cantr was down, I solved the red, blue, yellow, green, orange, and purple rooms. Then I did the math on the white room and fell asleep trying to escape it.

The second day, I found the hints section and then escaped. Then I escaped again. And kept on escaping.

It's a good game, something good to distract you when you have no minutes or no cantr. I can only imagine how everyone has been. What did you all do while wandering around your rooms with no direction with the urge to scream and pound on things in frustration?

It might have been before Cantr crashed but I joined that Kingdom of Loathing game and it's really fun. But only getting 40 adventures a day. In addition to that I've been playing Dogknife, Arcanejourneys, Nativitas and some Paravia reborn.

A moment ago I started thinking how to separate stup... um average kids that write all lowercase and badly and never read the rules from the nice players if I could make the rules. And I'm not trying to change Cantr, I'm still dreaming about making my own game some day. Got a friend that promised to do the programming but I'm too damn lazy to get anything ready. Anyway the idea is that the newbie race is going to be strong and good-looking and with wings and immortality. You must be born to a lesser race to get to play with the serious people, but you must start being a baby, with stubs of wings in your back so that everyone knows you're one of them. These half-"angels" are luckily sterile so they cannot reproduce. They can live longer than humans but are commonly hated because the "angels" are violent and childish beings who rape human womans (how else did you think the half-breeds came to life). Now these people that raise the half-breeds are veteran players that are given a chance to vote when the newbie is ready to be reborn as a human. There can also be clerics that are in fact moderators that can paralyze possessed people (troublemakers, somebody hacking someone else's account and messing around with it). Then I draw a picture about first an angel (it has sort of feathers instead of hair), then a couple of humans with a half-breed child. http://b0h.tripod.com/idea/beginning.jpg And how about that, right after I'd scanned it and uploaded it, Cantr was up. So I'm positive it was only waiting for me to come up with this idea. Ok it's nothing original but works. And I think it's kinda funny that creatures that look like angels are in fact very childish and annoying. And by the way they talk in all lowercase because their vocal cords are underdevelopped, exept when they yell then it's all caps lock. :)

Oh yeah and this morning I accidentally cut my finger with a table knife. Ouch. Those things are surprisingly sharp. Note to self, don't cut a bun on your hand.

Things to do when Cantr is down....

...well, this weekend I've mostly been hoping it doesn't rain, playing cards by candle light, and making cups of tea for people who have suddenly found themselves homeless.

A quick google search for "Carlisle" and "flood" should tell you everything you need to know.

Oh, and Seko, I play KoL, too. When I have power.

One notes how long it took West to post that.

Either the girl wasn't that pretty, or West is going to become less active.

Or ... Cantr will have a new player, one that whispers to West's characters non-stop.

Unlucky, Carlisle. One of the benefitsd of Sheffield being built on a huge hill is flooding is less frequent. One a side note, I live near Lewes... Horrible situaion last year. Can't get insurance against flood damage there now...

the second one ;-)

I'm already much less active on the forum. But if there's anything that could tear me away from cantr, it's this lady.

I'ma respect her privacy by not posting a picture for you to drool over.

But people have been saying, "how did west end up with such a pretty girl?"

she's not a cantr type.
besides, why waste valuable RL time by whispering IC?

Oh... so she's not attractive, funny, and smart? :D Because that's the cantr type.

I think West's taste might be more attractive, funny - optional, not smart.

Hey, she goes to one of the top schools in the country, smart alec.

The one I go to, no less. But she's an actress, and so doesn't have time for computer games.

I don't need to justify myself to you. :P

Well, is she funny, attractive, and intelligent then?

And what the hell are you coming on here at all for when you could be spending time with her?

I can't be with her all the time

She has a life too.

I mean, she has a life...
