Anasazi: The Gods have Spoken

Postby Dreams » Fri Jan 07, 2005 10:52 pm

The game just recently went into beta mode.
Very addicting.

The Basics
Anasazi is a free turn-based strategy game. It is played online and does not require any downloads or plug-ins. All you need is a fairly recent web browser, and a little imagination.

The Game
Anasazi is a fantasy game, featuring dragons, mages, knights and much more. Each player takes on the role of a lord or lady, in charge of a providence, were they get to select the racial break down of each race in their lands. Using the different races to your advantage, your goal is to turn these few acres into a thriving realm. By building, recruiting, training and performing acts of war on other players, in hopes of becoming the greatest realm in the game.

The War
Sparked by the untimely death of their mother and father, the Five gods (Durcheinander, Sultan, Krieger, Guerriero, and Calmo) have torn the heavens asunder. Their holy war is mirrored by the mortal realms below. It is an age where none can remain passive. Each noble dedicates himself to one of the five faiths and wars against the other four. Your only allies are them that share your faith. While everyone who doesn't, is probably out to kill you.

Give it a chance, ya will get addicted.

Is this actually a good game or just another on of those Utopia games where you repeat the same pointless attacks until a rest comes along and you have to start all over again?

I don't know what ya mean by pointless like utopia.
Do you mean everyone uses this same strat?
No.

Yes the game resets every couple of months, but it is set up so that their is no one strat, there are lots of differnet starts to use to get your realm built up and to the top.

I don't like reset games...they are just a waste of time, since you never amount to anything. But that is of course only my view...

A game resets so taht it don't become stale and boring.

At some point on group will become stronger over another group.(and since this is faith based it allows for one faith to become stronger over another) and when that happens it becomes boring for both parties.

The one on top can't do anything with out pissing off the lower one, so they get bored with the game.
and the ones on bottom can't do anything with out worrying the one top will react and down hit them.

but that is why their are resets.

the reason to play is to get to the top and be their at reset, because the Hall of fame will save the record of were you finished, and then ya got bragging rights.

Yes, I know...but I prefer strategy games with a more interesting goal than ending up in the Hall of Fame.

A game with a set amount of people from the start and not ending until a certain goal is met for example...

like a last man standing type of game?
Were everyone that is playing plays until they die and the winner is the person standing at the end of the game?

A game like that could easly be in the future for this style of game, it just need a bigger community to support it.

And getting in the hal of fame is not only the only goal.

in the clans game, their is a goal to get your hole faith to the top of the ranks. Not just yourself.

Haha, no...I feel no hostility at all :)

But I think it is sad that so many strategy games are based on that system, because it becomes very boring and pointless after a while...at least for me.

I like a game like Civlization much better for example, and there should be ways to make something similar in text form, only much less advanced.

hhmmmm, I agree with Cherize...
Sounds.... interesting....... but not my type of game.
I have been searching all over the internet for something like Cantr, so when my time runs out, I'm not left crying.
