No there is a way to get the exact percent, if you know how to look for it.

Yeah. Two clicks. *Cough cough hint hint*

Comon people, use your brains on this one.

Simple really. Without it, all you can say is "I have a bunch of tiredness, and I've had if tor a year with no improvement". With it, you can detail exactly how badly this thing is screwing you over.

I'm still trying to figure out if the most likely cure works. Which is silly, since I would think a character exposed to it would know if it were helping.

Industrialist, for those with any web scripting background, it takes no more than a few seconds thought... Well, it shouldn't take more, anyway.

I have had NO problems at all with tiredness and my characters. None at all.

That's about what I said, isn't it...I don't have any such, and I'm guessing that your average cantrian doesn't either...

No problems with tiredness? Yeah...actually it isn't bad. You just have to know the flaws in it and avoid them. And recover from the time when you didn't know about the flaws...

Edit: Acutally, have you tried to fight? Fighting's a little bit mangled, what with first attack loosing (in a well-equipped fight), and it being difficult for one moderately armed person to kill someone without being prostrated for a year...

Perhaps you are an exception, Revaneal. Because tiredness has had an effect on several of my characters significantly. In fact.... one town is so effected by tiredness (due to illness) that the citizens can barely harvest enough food to keep from starving.

And I have several characters standing around doing nothing but waiting for their tiredness to subside. Some have been doing this for years. :?

If you've a character who's trying to make things and fight lions and help newspawns get a shield in a hurry and... and... and... then "tiredness" is a game-ruining experience.

Now, if there's one thing I hate, despise, and detest it's games which you win by being some kind of programmer or "hacking" them in some way, so, for those who don't know, here is how to find out just how tired you are.

Go to your character page where the bars are, then in the browser menu bar at the top select "view", then select "source". You get presented with a page of weird stuff called HTML. But a little way down you'll see an obvious-looking part like this:

<TABLE WIDTH=700><TR><TD>Damage:</TD><TD><IMG SRC="image.progressbar.inc.php?width=200&height=20&proportion=0.002"></TD></TR><TR><TD>Tiredness:</TD><TD><IMG SRC="image.progressbar.inc.php?width=200&height=20&proportion=0.195"></TD></TR><TR><TD>Dirtyness:</TD><TD><IMG SRC="image.progressbar.inc.php?width=200&height=20&proportion=0"></TD></TR><TR><TD>Thirst:</TD><TD><IMG SRC="image.progressbar.inc.php?width=200&height=20&proportion=0"></TD></TR><TR><TD>Hunger:</TD><TD><IMG SRC="image.progressbar.inc.php?width=200&height=20&proportion=0"></TD></TR><TR><TD>Drunkenness:</TD><TD><IMG SRC="image.progressbar.inc.php?width=200&height=20&proportion=0"></TD></TR></TABLE>

Look for the values following "proportion=" then multiply by 100. In the above case you are 19.5% tired.

I've never had a character get below 75% (or so) tiredness. I'm actually pretty confused about.

Has anyone tried holding a ruler up to their monitor to calculate the percent? That would amuse me greatly :D

Or you could right click the picture of the bar and then select "properties" ...

Tiredness isn't something that will make or break your game by knowing if your a little tired or 19.5% tired ... It's not that big a deal. I haven't been just blatanly showing everyone how to find out the numbers because the bars were put there to keep people from saying "Man! That toucan hit me for 45%! I need some papayas Stat!"

It's just a "pretty" face on something, it still works the same as it has for some time now.

Yeah, this is what I was getting at. Two clicks.

I guess two clicks could also be "View" then "Source"... but then more clicks to scroll. So technically...

But since you still see the damn attack points as numbers instead of you get seriously attacked or lightly scratched, people are still asking Hey how much damage you do with that weapon of yours and I gotta answer even if it does them no good, since it's affected by tiredness. Now why don't we have randomness like in all the other games, that you could get lucky and hit critical or stumble and cut yourself accidentally? And everything in between.

There IS randomness applied to weapons, Along with Tiredness, Damage taken and those mysterious "skills". There isn't CRITICALS, like you're suggesting, although that would be both interesting and "cream pie in the face" funny.

1208-4: You see Gregor McGregor attack a man in his twenties with a saber and critically miss, planting the saber through his boot.

Funny when it happens to someone else.

1234-5 You attack $%#& note thief with a pickaxe and critically miss, lodging the pickaxe in your own back.

Not so funny when it happens to you.

LOL Reminds me of the jinxed trait in Fallout, giant scorpions keep accidentally stinging themselves, everyone drops weapons or a gun explodes taking along some of your fingers! So if there was such a thing it shouldn't be too common. But really, where is this random factor huh, if you hit four different types of animals and doing 13 damage on all of them unless you bump into one that has thicker "armor" or if you get tired. It doesn't seem to fluctuate at least within a day.

It could also be "you hit note thief with your shovel, causing 68 % damage." All criticals doesn't have to be bad.

I for one would love such a system. As it is now it is still always the one attacking or the one with the better weapons/armour/healing food that wins. With criticals all combat would have a small chance of going wrong, just as IRL. That would in turn be ground for heroes, myths, etc. on a larger scale.

I would even like to see random lasting damage, like injuries crippling your ability to gather resources, reducing your speed when you travel or temporarily knocks you unconcious. (and becoming the perfect target to loot or drag away.) The crippling damages would in turn require more advanced medicine and tools/machines that would open up for doctors and hospitals etc.

Think about it...you are in prison, interrogated by the captain of the guard. Suddenly you smack him in the head with your stone pot, knocking him unconscious.
You quickly loot his stuff, taking the key to the jail cell and his weapons and make your way out of town certain that your name will not be forgotten neither by the captain of the guard or the other villagers.

Cantr needs randomness...sure, it wouldn't feel fair to be robbed of your precious items while being knocked out, but that is how victims of crimes should react.
Eat the invisible food, Industrialist...it's delicious!

I think we need some more cooperation between the players. Like a Cantr Nation, check my post. E-mail me or text me.
