Feed The Animals

Postby Riggly » Thu Dec 09, 2004 5:36 pm

Just a thought I had this morning and this kind of goes along with the domestication of animals topic.

It might be an interesting addition to be able to feed the animals. I was thinking about deer in particular. But if you had to cook corn and maybe blueberries together to create a "feed" and by putting the feed on the ground would attract more deer to the area and thus they could be hunted.

Just a thought.

Who would want more of those vicious deer around?

Edited, cause I realized I was gonna get the Wrath of RK on me for some perceived CR breach....

Really? I don't see how anything connected to this topic especially bunnies would be a CR breach.

I'd originally posted a list of animals that I had seen viciously attack people, and decided to remove the list, because it's probably a CR breach.

How about if the animals ate the bodies they created. Say for example, if a person is killed by a lion, the lion begins eating the body, over the course of a few days, the body and clothing disappears (no need to bury) Lastely on a slightly unrelated topic, the bodies not killed by animals should decay after some time. An unburied body is a health problem for a while, but a 100 year old skeleton is not.

Probably a good move, Mortaine.

I'd have edited your post myself.

I think that if animals were ever tamed, then they would need to be fed...feeding of wild animals would probably not be a good thing, as in RL they would probably become even more aggressive if food was not readily given to them....just a thought :D

Alternatively, it'd be nice to be able to put out meat for animals so they don't attack you.

There really is no reason for a well-fed animal with free range of motion to attack a human that's not bothering it.

actually animals eating the food laying around and repoducing faster. would be a lot more realistic. food decays when left on the ground it would be nice if the animals ate it instead of all going to waste, the more animals there are the faster the food would disappear(get eaten), would bring a whole new aspect of farming animals for thier products, that alone would be a significant step in domestication. without having to put a new domestication function. possibly the ability to build a "stable" and lure animals in some method, probably a double gate so you can lure them in without others escaping........ ok hold on i should go to the suggested buildings topic now.
