NEW RESOURCES AROUND THE CORNER!! Cocoa and Seashells

Greetings!!

It's of my pleasure to announce that we have two new resources ready to be implemented, we just didn't do it yet. The reason? We would like to hear opinions about possible uses or purposes for them.

Cocoa: A quite rare fruit that will appear at some jungle locations. It will be inedible raw and will require to be prepared first and used later as part of different recipes. It would be able to be gathered manually; sped up with the help of a machete.

Seashells: A more or less common resource that will appear at some seashores. Gathered manually.

There've been some ideas floating around. Windchimes, seashell necklaces and anklets, chocolate milk, chocolate cake. This is just to illustrate.

nacre hilt - made with 40 grams of wood and 10 grams of seashells maybe, used like all the other hilts
seashell dish - customisable small portable storage (200 grams maybe), can be interpreted as a cup or bowl or anything small
seashell mosaic - this would be purely decorative furniture, imagine a mosaic panel on the wall or floor of a building. Takes a long time to make, uses a hammer and file, maybe bone glue too?

Cocoa:

cocoa sounds great. But energizing effects has a tepid history of massacre, If it can have some sort of maximum effect it might lessen the game-changing effect!

Yeah, we were talking about that. For now till we get a fix for fighting, we would just simply not make any energizing things, or their effect would be so insignificant that would be only be there for rp purpose. Like some 0.05 per 100g or so (just throwing some wild number, but seriously the idea is to keep things at minimum).

Sadly the hilt used is not visible in the finished weapon, at the moment. But if we get to implementing a system where it is visible, this would certainly be a good addition

I like the seashell coin.

Shells were used as currency in Hawaii and throughout the South Pacific for a long time. I want to say centuries but I'm not sure that's correct but I saw the currency shells in a museum so I know they existed.

Not only for dessert though, what about mole? and then a new dish with poultry and mole? sadly we don't have chiles in cantr so we'd have to improvise with some of the herbs we do have, maybe? Definitely hot cocoa, cocoa+milk+sugar, or just cocoa+milk, and people can add sugar like with tea and coffee, sometimes I like a bitter or spicy cocoa (maybe some day we can have cinnamon too? Pretty please!) anyway, and some places sugar is hard to find and trying to gather two rares from opposite sides of the world for one recipe sucks.

Oh geez guys, brownies, we have butter now, butter, flour (regular or cake? I think for brownies it's better to not use the nice sifted cake flour?) eggs, sugar, milk and cocoa. It could be the same ingredients in different amounts as whatever the recipe for chocolate cake will be, or use regular instead of sifted flour and less liquid? (kind of like how potatoes+salmon can either be fish cakes or chowder depending on how many and the machine)

We can make chocolate bars and candies and make it a process to make the chocolate, like coffee, and ferment the beans (but if we ferment them like alcohol, maybe not using a minimum static project amount because that would be rough), roast, crush and remove chaff, and grind the cacao nibs to make the chocolate liquor. Then a further process to separate cocoa butter from cacao solids if we want to go for cocoa powder and white chocolate (yuck! but to each their own!). There could be a new machine for chocolate tempering, in an instructional video I saw someone using a self-stirring pot that had one horizontal and one vertical roller inside the pot, so it was grinding and mixing the chocolate liquor (not to be confused with chocolate liqueur which could make for excellent RP!) to make the particles very fine or something. It could be like the difference between cooking stone and frying pan, you can use the traditional pot and stir it painstakingly, or the high-tech roller-pot and make the project partial automatic or faster like a tool boost? I think it's a bit too much to require it unless it's something simple, like made with only steel and iron and basic tools, otherwise people will wind up in a poor village full of naturally growing cocoa beans and no roller pot to refine it to an edible form.
So raw cocoa beans, fermented to fermented cocoa beans, roasted cocoa beans, ground to cocoa nibs (edible, healing food? it is in real life!) in a press or on a table? then ground again and heated, or using the roller-pot, to create chocolate liquor (also edible?). Then I think you'd have to make the chocolate liquor the "final" product of that process, then use that to decide if you want to extrude cocoa butter or cocoa solids (which can then be dried to make cocoa powder). In real life you separate the two and get both byproducts, but right now you can't get two products from one machine project sadly. Also in real life you generally separate, then add the cocoa butter and solids together with sugar to make chocolate bars and candy, but even as a hardcore chocolate enthusiast, I say we bypass that and make a project straight from chocolate liquor to chocolate candy, assuming the tempering process is being done while the liquor is mixing and heating. Also the liquor state should be used to make the chocolate liqueur (the fun one lol). But then we can have the extrusion process, which you choose to make either cocoa butter or cocoa solids, then with cocoa butter and sugar, you make white chocolate candy, and with cocoa powder make things like hot cocoa, mole, cake and brownies, etc. Unless we want to do variation recipes, like "chocolate cake (cocoa powder)" and "chocolate cake (chocolate liquor)", like how we sometimes use melted baking chocolate instead of cocoa, and that would give people a little wiggle room, like with margarine and butter. So say someone can't build an extruder to make cocoa solids and powder, but they were able to heat and mix the chocolate liquor from the cacao nibs, they can still make chocolate cake by selecting the liquor one. I honestly love those dual-method recipes (stew made with meat, stew made with barley) and think we should have more, it also adds to the roleplay to differentiate people's recipes if they choose to mention so, even when visually, it's all the same food. Also I do NOT think we need more differentiation between chocolate liquor and chocolate liqueur because that would be hilarious, just saying >:)

As for seashells, I second the seashell bra lmao, also about the sword hilt, why not make a new weapon like we do with diamond-encrusted steel sabre, and make seashell-hilted claymore, or something? It should work. Also abalone, abalone framed glasses, abalone bracelet? And is it just shells we will be finding along the shore, right? Not clams or anything that could potentially have meat, only decorative? Like pearls from our invisible oysters? definitely need seashell versions added to some of the accessories and jewelry too, maybe other decorations, also customized item like "seashell statuette", my mom had a cool figurine that was the shape of a fish and you could hold it and move it side to side like it was swimming, but it was actually made of segments of carved shell or stone or something, then wired together at the joints, so you could bend it like a real fish's body, it was really cool and a vague seashell item could lay way for people to come up with some neat designs that don't particularly have to be anything useful or commonplace.
