Tiredness

Postby Black Canyon » Fri Nov 19, 2004 8:27 pm

I understand the possible benefits of the new tiredness factor, but so far it seems like an insurmountable barrier to my characters who exert themselves in any sort of way. Once they have a high tiredness bar....it seems to take forever to decrease it. Maybe others have figured it out.....but I know many haven't due to the frequent topic of conversation among my characters and others regarding how exhausted they are. I would like to see recovery a bit faster during periods of inactivity. It doesn't seem realistic that they are unable to recover significantly after several hours of doing nothing.

I'm trying not to be a total whiner here..... but my thought is that the recovery should be faster...at least until specific ways are implemented that hasten recovery (such as beds, for eg).

I believe tiredness is recovered as damage is...once a day, probably when you eat (you get back more than 1%, though).

So by not working, you would only be not gaining tiredness, rather than losing it...no improvement would show until the day cycles.

That's based on what I've seen and heard...take it's correctness as you will.

It may just affect some. Some of my charries work very hard, has hit someone, and has hunted and their tired bars some have never moved and others only a few inches.

PD don't take this as a bug and mess with my charries please cause I think it works fine for my charries.

My character should be another year before he is no longer tired...
Something should be tweaked, a bit. Unless this is an improvable skill.

Same here. Tiredness in all my chars, be they young or old, is extremely slow. IRL even if completely nackered, you would be fit again in a day or two at the most.
Food like meat (which is rich in protein and iron) should also increase the recovery rate. To quote John "Lofty" Wiseman, "Pound for pound, nothing beats meat."

Fruits should help too, because of their vitamin contents....

Just a couple of suggestions, to do something about the slow recovery from tiredness.

I don't want to break any capital rules...but tiredness does not need to be a major problem with any characters as far as I can tell.

Yeah none of ym characters are very tired. I don't understand how some people are really tired. Maybe attacking takes a lot of energy.

Yep, combat drains energy in no time.

I was afraid of that, though I geuss it makes sense, you get tired a lot faster fighting than you do in something like farming potatoes, especially if you have done it a lot in your life.

One of my characters worked on an hourly project and attacked some animals. He had 90% tiredness. It seems that tiredness drops with 2% per day, so it will take about 45 days to rest, :? that 2 years and 5 days. Talk about realism...

I don't think you should compare Cantrians years to IRL years...then the whole game would become unrealistic.

I have a character how just been farming, that is, gathering food, and I'm at 55% tiredness! That's nearly 3 years of standing around doing nothing to be not tired. That's ludacris. If an attack came, I'd be beaten to a pulp. I'm going to be exposed for another 3 years now.

Tiredness needs to be fixed.

Again, I agree with you, Pirog.

Are you sure you didn't hunt or anything, because I have been farming hte whole time and I am barely tired. None of my characters are very tired, even those who have hunted.

I think I may have gone in and out of a building and maybe dropped or passed some things. This character is waiting on his employer to get back from a trip, and I only have a primitive bow from an abandoned project, so it's worthless for hunting anyway. The food at hand makes hunting only worth the effort if you want animal products, not food.

Something is very wrong.
