You've been one of the few people worth playing with, nite. It's been real. Best of luck.

No one could play without coming across at least one of the legacies you produced in-game. You've left one hell of a stamp on the Cantr world.

That, and you put me to shame with your editorial work...

I doubt you'll need it, but best of luck to you.

The first post here has some pretty good writing.

Is anyone else interested in submitting to the webzine?

Awww, Nitefyre, it has been an honor to watch you and interact with you over my many years of playing and not playing. I wish you loads of luck in your future ventures!

It was/is a necro. I should have said that up front.

I have just been searching the forums for a peek at our history. I found some threads dealing with Djorf when it was a powerful region, Krif (same region) and few others. The problem being (for research purposes) was that people often couldn't post when things were fresh in their minds and new events, or events elsewhere stopped them from updating the threads. This was a case where the 4 day rule (as necessary as it is) put a hamper on the 'eyewitness' accounts. Yet still I will search and probably necro a thread a week or so... maybe a few people will have some stories to add personal perspectives or experiences from the past. All of the empty buildings you see have a story... maybe we can hear a few.

Sorry for not announcing the necro earlier.

I can help if you want more about the Krif/Drojf/Seatown/Seatown Forest stuff. Ex: the magnificent seven, the Rangers, slaughter of the council, the rise of Seatown Forest to a mega power, the Nosse, the MacGregors, spies and double agents, the pirate plot and their defeat-ish, the betrayal of the Krif guard, etc.

If you'll be using notes searches in the database, I can throw out some keywords that should give results. (I forget how notes searches works. If exact titles are needed than I probably won't be helpful)

I remember how Jessamin MacGregor died abruptly because the player accidentally clicked the X and back then you just had to click on an "Are you sure - OK" button that appeared exactly in the same spot as the button if you were scrolled to the middle of the page, so if you double-clicked accidentally, the account was gone. That was the beginning of the end for the MacGregors. Gregor didn't live many years longer and the guy that inherited the title of Lord couldn't quite fill his big boots.

I remember there was some drama surrounding a character named Silverfoot, but I don't remember the details. I remember she (was it even a woman?) had an outfit made entirely out of lion skins. This was before custom descriptions, so it was all RP'ed.

Silverfoot was set up by Maynard Leeward. He made it seem like she went rogue and killed a nearby innocent village. In truth(?) the people killed were one of the bandit groups Maynard was secretly funding. Silverfoot and her crew were taken prisoner by Seatown Forest. The investigation there had to be done carefully because Seatown Forest wasn't sure yet what side Silverfoot was really on. They couldn't show that they knew about the bandits/pirates since that would ruin their covert actions in that arena. Maily Yumm sent very public messages to Krif that Silverfoot had been captured as a friendly gesture towards them. Really she just wanted to see who would crawl out of the woodwork to stop Silverfoot from talking. Maily let Silverfoot and her men keep their weapons and shields, while Maily herself dropped her own shield and crossbow whenever she went in to talk with them. Eventually Silverfoot confided in her, giving information that led to actions against two of the bandit groups. Maily tried recruiting Silverfoot (but never told Silverfoot any secrets). Silverfoot wanted a new life somewhere else, so Seatown Forest kitted them out and they built a boat and sailed away to who knows where.

Happy to contribute. And clarify defamatory statements such as these:

I have to assume you're not referring to Angus.

No I meant that guy who moved the whole bunch to Omeo. I can't remember his name, I just remember who played him but obviously I can't say that in public. Are you seriously pissed about someone potentially criticizing your dead characters or were you just faking it? Because it doesn't say much that I had completely forgotten about Angus' existence while I still remember Gregor well.
