Luke/Japheth is the one hard at work in my case. All I ever do is work out ways to horribly break and unbalance the game, and occasionally offer suggestions for improvement based on observation and past experience.

Okay, this thread is going back to cantr.
For those interested in more...other games are linked and have their own threads.
There are more games in the "Non-forum games" part of the forum and their advocates can take and answer your questions there.

Does anyone read any gaming blogs?
Ideally even browser-based or text-based gaming blogs?
What about role-playing or dungeon-and-dragon or board-game blogs?
Please share! I'm happy to reach out to them and ask if they'd publish something about Cantr.

This game is called A Dark Room and was quite popular. It's a single-player RPG, but it has strong similarities to Cantr. It could be a useful way to describe how Cantr works (there's fires, wood gathering, meat and fur from hunting animals...)

Re: Share a website, forum or place we could advertise Cantr!
Just had a thought on the way home yesterday. Looks like there may be a big (paid) advertising campaign soon, and I was thinking that if we go broad, it might make sense to sharpen up the website.
People are going to wonder, initially, why there are no images, and generally why they should play. Perhaps we could have a few easy-to-digest quick-to-read dotpoints on the home page. One of these could be something along the lines of "Cantr is best considered as a rich fantasy novel, where you and others collaboratively write the tale".
The idea of it being a collaborative book on an age-old society seems so obvious that I'm surprised we aren't marketing it like that. In fact that's pretty much how I'll be describing it to people. A story book, but still a game with survival elements, building elements, RPG elements, and other simulation elements.

Omegle would be ideal, really. Everyone there is looking either for sex or small talk.

Not sure if you're joking but this is legitimately a good idea. Quick/fast, easy, and anyone can do it. You might even find yourself having a conversation about the game and getting people interested... I will try this later. (pray for me, haha)

My experience of people who play Cantr mainly for sex is that their characters tend to die when rejected or denied sex.

Yeah... I'd like to see a video of that, you trying to advertise Cantr while some dude is jerking off on the other camera.

Them: *certain sounds from the other screen*
Me: "...so, uh, uhm, anyway, it's like a society simulator..."
Them: *sounds intensify*
Me: "..um, are you-?... uh... you can play a politician, pirate..."
Them: "...a dirty pirate? Yeah..."

That's true, sadly.

Cantr is an interactive collective storytelling and society simulator.
Cantr II is a social simulator. What is not working is due a problem in the society.
Cantr is like Vegas - what happens in the game should be in the game.

*He morphs into the Church Lady* Well, isn't that special. A chat room where people are touching their tingling naughty parts? Could it be...?
I have never been to a sight like that, but maybe the generalizations are exaggerated? According to the tropes page, thats all people here look for anyways.

Sometimes the only type of society a person can make is a couple and the unique interactions that is able to carry out are sexual...
